There's no 'how dare you'.  It's simply recognizing when 1 guy has a better track record than another, if only because he's had more time.    I think it's fair to say Oat's is pretty green, and I'm not sure UCONN can take that risk right now if it doesn't have to.

For the record, I just want the best available candidate we can find.  And I want them to do their due diligence as well.   I find Hurley's track record to be the top of the candidates available.  I don't know if he'll be the best in the end.

But given Oat's brief history, what I've seen of him--and that's only three games--and personality, I would not be disappointed to land him.

Some of it is also being able to land your first candidate, assuming identified a good one.   Imagine UCONN having to settle for 3rd or 4th option?
