Getting off of the threads dealing with refs and C Creme and thinking about more positive things, like our potential depth next year (minus injuries and any unknown losses), if we can have the 14 players we hope to have, good luck to other schools. However, in thinking about that group of 14 it hit me that we will still have quite a bit of inexperience, even though they will all be skilled.
I know we can spend hours debating next years' starting five so no intent to get into that, but looking at the inexperience factor I liked what I saw with this new group.
Five of the 14 will never have played in a UCONN game and those 5 also happen to make up a complete starting five. KK and Ash at the PG and SG spots, Q at the SF, Ice at the PF and Jana at the post. Lots of unknowns, but also lots of promise. If they are all what we expect, I think it would be fun to watch Geno start them in the 2nd or 3rd quarters of an exh. game next year as a DePaul type en masse substitution. They might be a top 40-50 quality quintet.
