An interesting note about possible second round match up Northwestern

When Jim Calhoun was the coach at Northeastern, Northwestern was seriously considering hiring him. Calhoun called Bobby Knight and asked him about the Big Ten job. Knight told Calhoun that Northwestern was a very tough place to win and that JC shouldn't take the job. After that JC decided not to have further talks with Northwestern. He waited. We all know how that ended.

All the details in that story may not be correct. But our fate was in the hands of Bobby Knight, so we owe him. And that is the story about how Northwestern almost stole our future.
