Says coachingsearch.com. . . . .could be that he's been told he's not a candidate here. Which with all respect to Ambrose is a good thing. UConn/WM can do better. . . . . .

James Madison: Don't be surprised if Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo and Towson head coach Rob Ambrose emerge as candidates for the James Madison head coaching job. A number of FBS coordinators are interested in the job.

Wouldn't that be a lateral move in every sense? Same level of football, same conference, same recruiting, etc?

think JMU might pay better. Also think they have designs on FBS.

Discussions this morning were that JMU offers better facilities, commitment, location, competition, ability to win big, etc than quite many other FCS schools and the all indicators are that they are positioning for a FBS move w/ this change.

Please. It's qualified with a "don't be surprised". Meaningless.

There is a growing contingent that wants him at Maryland next season. I don't think randy gets fired this season (probably should though), but who knows

Ambrose is a killer. He wins, he builds. Just because he can't command millions from us like some coordinators in the B1G could doesn't mean he is less qualified. I mean Chip Kelly went from I-AA coordinator to OC to HC in like 4 years.

He is worth a serious look.

I'd need more evidence first. Ambrose isn't likable and I think that is an important factor for the modern athlete when picking a school.

Moorhead has an equally good track record but he is much more widely liked by people. I'd take him over Ambrose.

Moorehead's track record is not equal in my opinion.
