Well not really amazing if you know the game. This group is totally in control of this game, but not in a way that smothers the game. Totally unlike Kantner and company who were completely incompetent.

They pointed out that the Supervisor of Referees is there. ( Former Syracuse Coach.) Wonder if that makes a difference?

I'm sure it helps that she's there but these refs are very good anyway, IMO.

Yep, the game never approached getting silly unlike Tuesday night. Good job. GT learned early on they weren't going to be getting the hack and hold calls.

Again - I don't think it is easy on the refs in games like this to establish the right balance. But this crew did a really good job of establishing that they were willing to call off ball fouls early and having done that - the game really did flow well - even in a defensive struggle like that first half.

Barb Jacobs practically already does. She's pretty much at every single UConn home game.
Jacobs, that's right, not Jordan, thanks, Scotter.

Barb Jacobs has been the Assistant Commisioner for BigEast women's basketball officials for several years. She used to do a "rules of the game" bit with Auriemma a few years ago. She has always impressed me as a really nice person but one has to wonder how much of the responsibility for the crappy officiating rests with her.

If we are going to whine about bad officiating we should acknowledge the guys that do a good job. Today's crew - Denise Brooks, Dennis DeMayo and Tom Danaher.

Strict interpretation of the rules say it was a correct call.
I agree... but if they were strict all the time there would be no action on the court
