One of the more important targets on our radar. I like our chances here fwiw.

Would imagine his NIL "ask" would be reasonable vs other SF/PF portals. One year left-Correct?

.-.
Strong defender and would be a big boost athletically. Pairing him with Demary and the returners would allow for a lot of switching 1-4.
There is certainly an important role for someone like him to play. One that suits his strengths quite well.

Now does he want to play that role?

He’s not going to transfer to come off the bench. I’d assume his spot is possibly open

.-.
Steps into #4 if AK leaves. Gives some rebounding prowess to go with Reed

Reed, Stewart, Reibe and him makes a great rotation at 4/5

Not sure about this guy- see below on his numbers verse better competition last 2 years- obviously small sample size- overall numbers show he isn’t a very efficient shooter & not sure if he will be able to rebound at that clip in the Power 5;

@ St. John’s- 4 Points 6 REB 0/9 FG 0/5 3PT 2024

@ Saint Louis- 4 Points 8 REB 2/11 FG 0/4 3PT 2024

@ Yale- 23 Points 5 REB 9/22 FG 1/9 3PT 2024

vs Hofstra- 20 Points 11 REB 6/23 FG 2/7 3PT 2024

@ Mass- 13 Points 3 REB 5/6 FG 2/2 3PT 2023

Vs Yale- 6 Points 4 REB 2/5 FG 2/4 3PT 2023

@ Florida- 8 Points 4 REB 3/8 FG 0/4 3PT 2023

Also shooting overall @ 40.5% & 27.3% at Quinnipiac is kind of scary, if he can’t be efficient in that league as a 6 foot 7 wing- not sure how he will make out verse better competition & athletes

Not sold on this one at all unless he’s a backup. Would want a better shooter replacing AK and seems like he just physically outclassed a weaker conference which wouldn’t be the case here.

Monroe is an excellent fit. Can backup 3/4 if Karaban stays and can start at 4 and/or backup 3/4 if Karaban leaves.

Monster rebounding squad too if he signs up.

And, hopefully some physicality for the beefy PF's in the BE.

He shot 35% from 3 last season on lower usage. Highlights show a lot of 3’s off the dribble this past season at a very low efficiency. Presumably he would be taking much more high percentage shots as a secondary piece of the UConn offense.

Gotta be concerned about everybody when NIL money is being thrown around. You don't know what a team is willing to pay
And anyone could come out of nowhere and "donate" for a player.

The teams he was playing against..
Remember that guy Mahaney?
Mahaney didn’t pan out - but he played for a team that was a 5 seed in the NCAAs twice. Spencer started at Loyola. And not the good Loyola.

The final four will have starters who played at Iona, Belmont, Florida Atlantic, Morehead State, Tulane and Florida International.

I think the key is the jigsaw puzzle. We have a rugged 5 and a versatile Euro 5. A rugged 4 to go next to the Euro 5 would be a nice option when the rugged 5 is in foul trouble. Or two rugged guys with one who can knock down threes.

An important skill that we will need next year that you might not find in analytics or highlight reels is screen setting. We will need to get some guys open. Sanogo and Clingan were really hard to fight over.

I was typing the same response:

"Do you remember Cam Spencer? He played 3-years at a bad Patriot League school that dropped down from the MAAC (Quinnipiac's conference) because they couldn't handle that level."
