Regardless of how those guys do on the court, the fact remains that 2013 is a mid-major-esque recruiting class. Perception is what matters here. If we want to be considered elite, we have to recruit like we're elite.

Purvis and Hamilton are a great start toward an elite recruiting class. Samuel and Facey were not.
Watching Facey play on TV vs St. Anthony's of N.J. and Cardinal Hayes of NYC, it was obvious that Facey was the best player & college prospect on the floor in both games. These are two of the top teams in the country.
I don't think I would call Facey not elite.

I trust that you're right; he just hasn't gotten a lot of buzz. And in terms of recruiting, it seems like buzz around a program is what attracts a lot of the top guys: elite recruits attract elite recruits. This is what's driven the bus for UK the last 3-4 years, and I hope is something we can develop around our program (albeit with actual player development to go along with it).

AMA and any of these kids who accept their UConn offer will be beloved and remembered for their play and their recruiting drama will be forgotten.

It is getting to be no fun reading about B-yarders who begrudge someone a free Florida trip or worry that all is lost because so and so has been seen getting fast food in the wrong college town. People need another hobby. The next thing we know, someone will cry the sky is falling because they heard from someone 'reliable' that someone's AAU coach just bought a Tuft's Jumbo or Williams' Eph baseball hat on Amazon.com.
Please.

We've won as many national championships as Kentucky in the last 3-4 years. We were better than them in 2011, we were better than them last year, and I like our chances to be better than them this year.

No need to be jealous of their bus - we've been driving our own bus for 25 years and it's still purring along nicely.

I bet he goes to PC. Who ever heard of a joint press conference where one kid says I'm going to one school and another says I'm going to another? If you're gonna do that, have separate announcements.

a) they are best friends
b) they are lifelong AAU teammates
c) they both live in the greater boston area

makes sense to me regardless

They have an AAU coach who gets a promoting the "big" announcement. That's why they are doing it. Who knows what the result is but that is the reason.

.-.
Does it make me immature that I laugh every time I see the word "" typed?
