Allie Ziebell #1 in country in True Shooting %

It's more like she has to have the confidence to take shots. She passes up too many shots IMO.
I think she passes up many of the shots because of a slow release. Many of those she passes up can be blocked - maybe she needs to work with Azzi on that quick release.

I don’t see her pass up many shots. I do think she has passed up ,good shots and instead passed the ball to (mostly) Azzi or a few times to Ash. Not sure there’s much to criticize about that though she’s about as good a shooter as anyone on the team. However, I think that’s just a “respect” thing as in “Azzi’s got a better chance of making this shot than me.” That will go away gradually and next year, I’m guessing, she will take those shots without any hesitation. As for the “slow release”, I’m not seeing it. Doesn’t mean it’s not there but, I haven't noticed it. I actually think she’s got a pretty quick release! Of course, compared to Azzi, a lot of releases look slow.

What I do notice is her high basketball IQ. She is not the fastest, flashiest player out there but she is a calm and competent player who knows what to do and when to do it. I think she’s going to be a big time player for us over the next two years. I would not be surprised if she were to be an all American before she leaves UConn.

Allie is a great teammate and has worked hard to improve but she is not what I would call an aggressive defender. She doesn't have quick hands to be a steal threat, gets beaten many times by less skilled players and her shooting performance while at times can be lights out great still lacks consistency. To me she has the potential for significant improvement. Like you I hope she meets the AA candidate level in her last two years.
