What data is this being based on? The three guards selected ahead of her were Alyssa Thomas, Kelsey Mitchell and Alisha Gray. Per this comparison below, their numbers were very similar and each player led others in some categories.
My other question would be, doesn't their performance throughout the season count for something? Mitchell carried the guard duties for the Fever all season with all their injuries. Thomas had a second season with 10 triple doubles. Gray had her best season to date with an Atlanta team no one expected to be in the top 3 this season.
