Students are not in session right now. That's why Gampel was empty tonight.

Gampel was far from empty. I was there with from 8500 to 9000 others. 60-70% of the student seats were filled. Not bad considering school was not in session. The students that were there were really into the game. Look around at other schools attendance when not in session. Palatine, I realize you reside in DC and can't make it to Storrs for BB games. Without being in attendance you have no clue regarding crowd atmosphere

I blame the people on the base in Germany. Sure, they can show up when it's easy - big name opponent, no travel needed, etc. But when it's only Harvard and they have to cross an ocean, they get lazy.

Yeah, but not by students.
Not true.
I blame the team for not putting a cheerable product on the floor.
This as well. Team came out cold and stayed cold. Only showed some energy in the second half, by then, crowd was lulled to sleep.

How bout this, when the students are on break, play at the civic center, bridgeport, mohegan sun, when students are back, play them in Gample...

I'm sick of this this play here not here bull$hit, This team should play inspired ball wherever @ck they play, whether the crowd cheers or not. And this team needs to start playing inspired or you can kiss the ncaa tourney goodbye.

More people go to HCC games.

And where were the students tonight? Dismal showing.

It's winter break. Do you expect all the students from New York, NJ, PA, etc. to come up for the game? Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but come on...

This is what needs to happen.

The courts up at Towers. What a home court advantage that would be.

Just bring the games to my quad in North. If it's big enough to play 3 on 3 floor hockey, then a high level division I basketball game should be nothing. How's that for a "home" court advantage?

What about Rentschler, like the recent hockey games in baseball stadiums just to mix it up?

It's ironic how little the students contribute to the program financially, while complaining about games being played at the civic center. Yet, games at the civic center allow more fans, as well as more fans that contribute much more to the program financially to attend.

We want to grow the fanbase, particularly in the wealthier and more densely populated area of Fairfield County, by making it more difficult, and more expensive, for most everyone who isn't a student and playing all games in Gampel?

In the early days of Calhoun and the Big East, the Civic Center made it easier to grow the program into what it is. And until recently, when it was basically impossible to get single game tickets at Gampel without buying them off a secondary market; the civic center allowed many fans (including myself) to go to some games and support the team.

The fact that the school hasn't figured out the way to do this best and we still need to "grow the fan base" makes me wanna puke.

Many fans were late to game because of a water main break that closed down North Eagleville road
