Games were very competitive. Vanlith and Prince shined. Hildago did not, although she was her normal self on defense. Almost found myself rooting for Tennesse but they shot themselves in the foot with late game turnovers. They may have gotten more offensive turnovers than defensive. Thought Texas’s two freshman, Preston and Lee, saved the day for them.
And now I rant about the disparity between ticket sales and actual attendance. Upper bowl resale tickets were selling between $3 and $6 here. The venue was filled to 2/3 rds capacity. And the numbers were a bit less out West. Is Women’s basketball popularity soaring only in the minds of speculators?

There's been a lot of chatter about these two particular sites, between less than easy way to get there, long travels for teams' fans, etc. As much as everyone outside of the UConn world bitched about it, there was a reason that the Bridgeport regional sold out when UConn played there, along with other logical geographic placements of other teams (Tenn, SC, west coast, etc).

IMO, the weirdness of the two regional locations this year and going forward, is not lining up with the surge in popularity of WBB. I noticed a lot of empty seats behind the Oklahoma bench, and oh man, if last night's game had been anywhere near the east coast, I'm thinking there would have been a lot more blue & white in the stands.

In Spokane, there were enough OU fans to start an anti-UConn chant in the second half. You could hear it on the TV broadcast. There was a response from a UConn contingent of similar volume. I guess this means it really was a neutral site.
