Boston was injured in ealy in today's blowout over Hampton. After going to the locker room she returned to the bench in a walking boot. Early indications are a high ankle sprain. Probably out for UCLA on Tuesday. In my experience, two weeks is the norm for a high ankle sprain though longer is preferable. Thus, may miss South Dakota State as well.

Cardosa, Watkins and Feagin were great in Boston's absence, but Hampton was overwhelmed by height in the @ 50 point blowout. We'll see how our "backups" fare against UCLA

Good luck to Aliyah with her recuperation! No matter what level the Gamecocks might be able to play without her, WCBB is the better for her being its centerpiece player this season.

Coach Law doing the radio postgame said Boston was good and the boot was just precautionary but she would be fine and that she was more scared than anything. Also Lateicia Amihere who was the player chosen for the post game presser, also said that Boston was fine and that she expeceted to see her back playing Tuesday night. Take it for what it is worth, but that was two separate sources doing interviews in two totally different areas of the arena. Also found it encouraging that they did not limit her movement after the game. I know they use boots to ensure no swelling at times of minor injuries, but Aliyah walked around after the game giving hugs and taking pictures as usual, and with significant injuries, this has never been allowed.

Coach Law stated that she slightly twisted her ankle and it scare her a little. I do not believe it is a high ankle sprain and a few players in post game interviews indicated they expected her to be back for Tuesday night's game. Whether she plays or not will be up to the staff, but it seems not to be even an ankle sprain from their comments. Dawn even stated that the Team Doctor did not think it was serious at all.

.-.
It seems Boston is okay, or at least the injury is not significant. She's dressed and out of the boot during SC's practice

I still don’t think she plays tomorrow but we’ll see. Cardoso has been doing great so far this season. I’d like to see her continue stepping up if Boston takes a break tomorrow. Also a great opportunity for Feagin and Watkins to get more time. Watkins has been the surprise so far.. already one of the more talented players on the roster as a freshman.

Seems like this problem has made it down 77 from Charlotte to Columbia. 3 of the Panther QB's have missed time this year with high ankle sprains. One of the QB's was out for 3 weeks... another for six weeks, and another has been out for 2 weeks and counting.

Great? Did you watch the Stanford game? Or notice she was a DNP Coaches decision the following game? She is play well against bad competition and is iffy overall.

Now SCAR fans know how it feels to be a fan in any other thread on this board, only to have it turn into a thread about SCAR! ;)

Hmm. If a non-CT fan made such a declarative generalization about the total CT fanbase here for the actions of a few CT fans, they'd probably be banned from the site. As it is, I DO NOT know this feeling. Perhaps you can describe it for me? Some 80-90% of my posts here are in South Carolina-specific threads. The vast majority of the other posts, I posted youtube music videos in the Youtube music video threads.......

Are you okay? Because you’re in every SC thread ranting. And it’s getting old.

Friend, you've answered your own question. On a board for UConn fans that has graciously created a "general basketball" forum for the rest of us, I count four different threads in the first half of the page dedicated to SCAR. And then if you go into specific threads on other teams, like the Tennessee thread, half that thread at times is hijacked by SCAR fans. There's a reason my earlier post in the Tennessee thread about this got 8 likes - it's a recurring and slightly tiresome phenomenon.

And let me just clarify: I am not a "non-CT" fan - I am a Stanford fan (as an alum) first and foremost, and UConn fan over everyone else (as a four-year Nutmegger).

And to your point, I certainly wouldn't come to SCAR's board and complain about your fanbase there, because that'd be gosh darn discourteous -- especially since a lot of SCAR fans are great, including a few who post to our Stanford board. But I do think the enthusiasm for your team gets a little out of hand sometimes, and it can sometimes be a little too much for fans of other teams. :)

With great power (and a reigning championship, and a #1 ranking) comes great responsibility (err on the side of being gracious and quiet). Until very recently, UConn fans have just had a heck of a lot more practice at this than you guys. ;)

I responded to your comment about "how it feels to be a fan in any other thread on this board, only to have it turn into a thread about SCAR!". Those ARE your own words, are they not? SO, are you referring about "any other" NON-"SCAR" threads "on this board", or about any other "SCAR" threads?? Because, now I'm confused - how can any other SCAR thread "turn into a thread about SCAR"??

Basic logic led me to assume by any other threads on this board, you meant any other NON-South Carolina-specific threads - threads having nothing to do with South Carolina.

Are those "four different threads" you refer to those four threads that are SPECIFICALLY about South Carolina?

1) "Aliyah Boston Injured"
2) "Can Anyone Beat South Carolina? 12 Questions on Women's College Basketball"
3) "South Carolina Survives UCLA"
4) "Gamecocks 2022-'23 Season"

So I'm confused: how do these above threads "turn into" threads about South Carolina? They appear to me to be threads created specifically to invite discussion regarding South Carolina, primarily. As a South Carolina fan and poster here, where else if not in those threads, should I go on this board to discuss South Carolina? Would it be more respectful of me as a guest South Carolina posting fan to post my posts regarding South Carolina WBB in any other threads, than in these above?

As to the Tennessee thread, coming into the season they were expected to be one of the top if not THE top challenger to South Carolina for the conference throne. Perhaps when it's all said and done, they still will be. Why wouldn't Gamecock fans discuss in that thread? In any case, if you would care to take the time to count the 495 posts, you'd be surprised I'm sure to find that it is CONNECTICUT fans who have posted the most in that thread, as one fanbase - particularly after Tennessee started losing games. Other than Tennessee fans, of course.

But South Carolina fans have more of a conference rivalry with Tennessee fans than anything CT fans have with them, extending well beyond just WBB. So regardless of WHERE the thread was posted, there should be expectation of more South Carolina posts in it than CT posts.

But you seem to have a specific issue with South Carolina fans being here and posting posts. This isn't the first time you've yelled at us to get off your lawn:

Let me be less subtle this time. Nothing about this thread title suggests it's about South Carolina's poll ranking. If folks are salty, it's probably cause they're sick of having to hear about South Carolina in every gosh darned thread on this board.

Can't we all just get along???

Is it possible that two of the four different threads about South Carolina that you point out were started by persons who are not Gamecocks? (Actually three of four if you count Nan who is merely keeping thread size down)

Is it possible that there are about 30 times more Gamecock fans on the board than fans of other teams - say . . . Stanford?

Is it possible that numerous threads on the main UConn boards have discussions of South Carolina but that we (mostly)try to refrain from commenting there because Nan prefers us to keep our discussions here?

Is it possible that our team is mentioned in a post by Vol fans in threads about their team? As contenders for the conference crown?

Is it possible Gamecocks just like to fight? Ever been around one?

Lol, the fact that the moderators on this site set up a separate board for fans of other teams would seemed to contradict that. It is very difficult to get banned on The Boneyard and we welcome fans from other teams.

.-.
Usually when there’s a South Carolina thread there’s a high likelihood it was started by a fan of another program. We are not out here flooding the board with Gamecock threads.

If a thread is created with the intention of being a “I hate SC meeting space” (see the “SC survives UCLA” thread) you should expect Gamecock fans to show up in defense of their team. As any other fanbase with a sizable presence on tBY would.

Exactly. And most Gamecock fans try to respect that. I hardly post on the UConn board, unless it’s about UConn. We know that it’s your home.

(Not directed at you) .. But if a non-SC thread is created on the general board and a non-SC fan mentions SC.. Gamecock fans shouldn’t be handicapped from responding because of fear from “turning it into a SC thread”. There are plenty of SC threads here, stop talking about the Gamecocks in non-SC threads if it’s so bothersome when Gamecock fans respond. It’s ridiculous to expect Gamecock fans to not respond when SC is mentioned.

 I gonna plead the fifth here since I'm pretty sure cock fighting is an illegal activity.
You don’t need a cockfight. Just have two roosters in a barnyard. They are gonna fight. Not to the death the majority of the time and not with sharpened steel spurs, but they’re gonna fight.

And it’s not “hate” in any way
