Medically induced coma is usually for head trauma to reduce swelling and additional damage to the brain. It can sometimes be used to manage pain. Hoping for a full recovery. So young.
I actually think it’s a catch-all when they just want to otherwise shut the body down and focus on the life threatening conditions

4:55 am, not a good time to be out on the road, especially for a high school kid.
I had to be on the road during school vacations and summers by 3:30 delivering milk to homes, stores and restaurants so maybe he was hauling goods in his cyber truck......... let's hope he wasn't inhaling lithium battery fire smoke.

Elite high school athletes train at the crack of dawn before school starts, wouldn't be surprised if that's where he was headed

When I first saw this post I was wondering if it was a new combination of urban medical facility and sports center.

Why did you interpret that as he'll be okay? Breathing in toxic smoke can be life threatening and have long lasting impact on the brain and body.

With that said, I pray and hope he's going to be okay, have a full recovery and have a successful hoops career.

I'm hoping for the best.
I'm far from a medical expert. But when I heard coma my original thought was fatal. I'm happy to hear it isn't fatal (I think) and that he should be more likely to make a recovery.

And since there's no bodily damages once he does recover he should be able to resume his basketball dream moving forward. But I'm not a medical expert at all so I could be way off on this.

You don’t actually need to be in accident to die in a Cybertruck. You can die from embarrassment.
Wish the kid a quick recovery.
And there’s a widespread concern over cybertrucks catching fire, which happened in this case, which caused his smoke inhalation injury, which seems to be the main reason he’s in a medically induced coma. The neighbor who first responded to the accident indicated the mid couldn’t get out; so the truck trapped him in, directly contributing to the smoke inhalation. The accident didn’t result in any broken bones, and he was driving in a neighborhood, so it seems it wasn’t some crazy high speed thing. He was conscious and banging for help inside the car, so there wasn’t any significant head injury. This was indeed truly purely a smoke inhalation issue.

So, if anything, the cybertruck probably made the result of the accident even worse than it otherwise would have been with a different car.

I would never drive one. They're really ugly, I like gas vehicles, they're for people who want attention, and they're totally impractical but they're safe.

Too much money at a young age and driving way too fast in a vehicle he's not capable of handling would be my guess. I'm shocked we haven't already seen more of this is the NIL age.

Sounds like the car was the root cause of his coma and yet the guy carries their water. I think he was one of the guys that rooted for the insurance company.

Maybe try some basic research

No broken bones, no significant head injury. Driving through a neighborhood. Trapped in the burning car banging for help. Pulled out and out in a coma for smoke inhalation.

Elon Musk doing shady stuff to get high safety ratings means nothing to me. We know they’ve been caught messing with odometers to get out of insurance/warranty claims.
