Do you remember how you felt when TNewton announced the return for his super-senior season?
Alex's announcement feels thrillingly similar.
At that time I firmly felt Newton was exactly what we needed to repeat. A returning and dominant PG much less one from a championship team is the most precious piece in the sport and we didn't even have a start-worthy PG on the roster.
At this time, I think Alex's return represents a piece more valuable to us than any transfer out there at the time but his potential impact, while great and surely helps make us a true contender, is a small step down from the impact Newton's return had.
No disrespect at all but maybe it's telling that the 'Newton return' post on 5/31/23 got 155 likes and Alex's posted on 4/29/25 has only 116 (so far)
