Alec Millender commits to UConn

Midway? That was happening until the NC game was over. I forget if it was Goodman, or someone else, but it was one of those vocal morons.

Calhoun was questioning the pg up until the tournament started (not calling him a vocal genius, but he was).

Let’s not sugar coat it, Newton was very inconsistent and at times was not a very good player his first year. You can even rewatch the first 10-15 of the SDSt game and he was awful with the announcers calling him out. He remedied that quick and ended up with 19-10 if I remember right.

He was inconsistent, but he was also at the minimum an inconsistent PG who vacillated between mediocre and fantastic that year. Talking heads were acting like UConn was playing without a PG at all, which was not the case at all.

First 13-14 minutes of the game, he was 0-3 from the floor with three turnovers. Announcers criticized him for trying to do too much and being careless with the ball. But I am an idiot. That'll I'll always accept.

You can be anywhere in the world with internet and VPN is your friend to watch what you want to watch.

I just prefer going but living in Northern NJ it's 2.5 hrs to Storrs so mostly @Seton Hall, @MSG then I pick a few fun road games (e.g., last year @ Texas in Austin was fun).

2.5 hours from Northern New Jersey to Storrs? Are you charting a plane? That's off by an hour, conservatively.

I went to a 35th HS reunion in East Hartford (stayed in W. Hartford) on a Saturday last Oct.

Took me 2 hrs plus change - traffic in Jersey City, some in Manhattan, some on 95 ~Norwalk. Maybe I should have gone Tappan Zee for I-84 all the way but the Tap is practically falling apart.

Also I live in Jersey City and just leaving here by car can be "challenging" to the tune of 30-40 min.

They replaced the Tappan Zee in 2018. New one is ok.

Honestly, I don't see how you could've done it. To your point just getting out of Jersey City can be a chore. Same with Hoboken. I was thinking if you went into Manhattan at all, that's impossible, but you're talking about heading up 95, I think.

If I were in Jersey City, I don't think I would head to the Tappan Zee Bridge (and no one calls it the Mario Cuomo Bridge.) That's going west to head east. What's wrong with the bridge? I was up there fairly recently and didn't see an issue.

Best bet out of Jersey City for me is the Holland Tunnel. Then it's either West Side Highway all the way up to 95N else come around the FDR and do similar.

To get to the Tappan Zee I would head out of Jersey City on Tonnele, to Rt 3 to 495N but that is a painful traffic filled slodge I try to avoid.

Maybe I should take Metro North to Hartford for XL games as I went to Google Maps it's ~4 hrs to Hartford ultimately in an Acela. Gonna contemplate the ifs once I see the schedule.

!!!!!Note - shooting at the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury was also on Google Maps as an alert with 4 shot!!!!!

That's pretty close if not much traffic. Also, depends where in Northern NJ. I have a friend who lives in Franklin Lakes, NJ and from Alex Karaban's hometown (which is where I live) to there is about 3:20-3:25. So from there to Storrs is probably right about 2:30.

Apparently, I have bad luck with traffic then. 3 to 3 1/2 Storrs feels about right.

You drive like a grandma. ;)
Hey 55 is the speed limit, not a minimum my friend.

(Seriously, unless you're doing it at like two in the morning, I don't see it happening.)

You must be old. Most places are now 65 and have been for decades. Which means anything under 80 is O.K. :)

What high school?

Next thing you know, you're going want me to get out of the left lane. I have every right to be there!
Didn’t you pay attention in driver’s Ed class? Left lane is for passing only
