One thing for sure is that ANYBODY can coach better than Holly.... and I hope for the sake of TN that KJH is the person to take them places....

Having said that, cannot help but absolutely marvel at Tennessee's excitement having beaten Alabama on a 25 ft heave at the buzzer..... breaking 5 game losing streak (again, to ALABAMA)

The team celebrated like it had won the national championship..... and their crowd was delirious....

Akin to a scene I saw at Carrier Dome few years back when The Orange beat Florida State and crowd rushed the floor....

Cannot help thinking that Tennessee expectations are to be at this level but not with the Miss States the South Carolinas.... etc

Exactly who on that Alabama roster is great and to be feared Who is a McDonalds All American

I don't have a dog in the fight.... but i seldom have been so underwhelmed

I know I've said this before but it bears repeating.

The Vols fans have sorely underappreciated the genius of Holly Warlick. She skillfully dragged their expectations down so low to the point where they are ECSTATIC over a lucky 2-point win over Bama.

Emotional highs often lead to bounces. Most teams that beat UConn in the FF semis lost the final.

This game was more mental than anything. In saying that, I believe that impacted the play of the LadyVols.
I don’t mind the celebration. They hadn’t beat UA in 5 straight attempts.
Celebrate the small victories and the BiG ones will come!

It’s always good to be trending in the right direction!

Wow I missed that because I was watching Mississippi State-South Carolina. What a shot.

Earlier today I made the comment that unlike past seasons, TN has beaten everyone they were supposed to beat this season. While that’s still the case, beating Bama by 2 at home on a prayer hardly inspires confidence. Really looking forward to Thursday night’s game.

Bama gave South Carolina a reasonably tough game, but yes.

With all the parity that is clearly in the game today it simply amazes me that you can’t accept that teams, no matter the record, Aren’t going to lay down and lose to anyone. UConn fans are so consumed with the team, you used to be, that you fail to see your own faults. You barely beat UCF. It didn’t take a last second heave but it wasn’t a blow out either. Teams are BETTER across the board. I’m not sayin Tenn will beat you guys but I soooo hope they do!! Everyone is getting beat and losing to unranked teams and games are closer but you steadily point out other teams’ problems without acknowledging your own. Okay!!!

LOL. You must be new here. Every time we don't win by 50 and aren't up by 30 at halftime there are a dozen threads about what's wrong with the team. If there's one thing this fan base is good at, it's being critical of the team.

No I’m not new. I’m always here but your board has threads that cover ALL of women’s basketball not just UConn . I like that the board has threads that highlight all teams. And you just made my post something else but okay.

Blah blah blah...Everyone is getting beat and losing to unranked teams and games are closer but you steadily point out other teams’ problems without acknowledging your own. Okay!!!
Whoa! "Everyone" isn't losing to unranked teams. Tennessee is losing to unranked teams. UConn last lost to an unranked team in 2012. That's 8 years ago. Okay!!!

What about the St. John's game in 2012? Were they ranked at the time? SNY had the stat after the UCF game that it was win #200 in a row against an unranked opponent. That seems like too short of a streak to go back 24 years.

Okay , technically but I was just generalizing some things. Unranked or lower ranked teams are making games a lot more interesting then they have been. Yes Tennessee did. As did Stanford and Maryland. Kentucky and those who have not have found themselves pretty close To doing so. My point.

She was no good from the start,, was EZ 2 C Tenn athletic dept did some lasting damage to kill what was a signature program....

Now premier programs in SEC are SC, Ms St, Kentucky and apparently Alabama!

When will TN get some players like they had in Stricklen that gal hated to lose... and brought it every night

"Technically" is one way to put it. Another is "factually."

LVF, I see from your profile that you’ve been lurking on the BY for almost 4 years now. Congratulations on finally having the gumption to actually post your thoughts.

Here’s a little bit of unsolicited advice. Many regular BY posters are extremely knowledgeable. If you don’t want to get called out for inaccurate hyperbole, take a little time to consider what you post. Maybe do a little research to document your claims.

When I first began posting on the BY in November 2016, I was warmly welcomed by many longtime posters. However, if I posted inaccurate or over the top comments, I was thoroughly called out by folks who knew better.

While I still get things wrong from time to time, I am far more careful to insure that what I post is not complete nonsense.

The ending of the game was "fantastic"....Most of us LV fans were hopeful of a winning shot to win the game, but no one expected a 25 footer to finish off a gallant Bama squad that fought all the way to the end....

Under coach Warlick this would have never happened, never. She must have been born under an unlucky star.

How can you be sure it would have "never happened, never"? I recall a Holly Warlick-led team that beat Notre Dame -- in a year when ND was a #1 seed -- on a late game-winning shot by Jaime Nared. There were other close games that Tennessee won under Warlick's watch.
