Akron heading to the Big East for soccer?

The MAC is closing up shop for soccer and its teams are being scattering around the country (ok, not really). I heard a rumor that Akron may be heading to the Big East for soccer. Any truth to this? They are an elite soccer program.

That would be awesome but not gonna hold my breath. B1G and ACC could both be a fit as an affiliate member

Big East has Old Dominion, Liberty, Temple and Quinnipiac as members in field hockey. Why not Akron for soccer?

Current MAC Standings - not much of a conference. I guess that's why WVU left for the Sun Belt. Welcome Zippers!
