He has to find a role on offense.

The concern is that he's a classic 'tweener. He's not exactly a post-up big, he's not exactly a pick-and-pop guy, he's not exactly a ballhandler. He's gotta find something to excel at and work on it.

He really needs shooting drills every day. Pick and pop, jump hooks, turnarounds. Work on shooting. It's not all about blocks and dunks.

Need some confidence on the offense. Hands, catch dunk clean been a problem. Need to see him drive to the hole then start shooting the 3.

He had 0 blocks today. 0. Seemed like his timing was off and he was waiting too late. Perhaps he was sick.

We're not an NBA team, all the guys won't have good games on same day most times.

If we won this place would be calling it one of the greatest wins ever.

We had enough guys play well enough to win....the game changing calls went against us, that's it.

When he gains 15lbs of muscle he'll score at will. He'll be fine. The talent is there.

But how? Post ups down low? Driving from the high post? Pick and pop?

He looks like he has the potential to develop any number of skills, but it's not clear what his calling card is going to be, and in absence of that, it's basically nothing.

Love the kid but they've gotta figure out a way to get some offensive contribution from him. 0-fer from the field and 2 points from the line is tough in a game like today.
It was his worst game all year, but Carlton was an even bigger neg. Proof that you’re better off being a no show than shooting 3 for 10 with a bunch of turnovers. It’s part of the reason why Akok is one of our best players and Carlton has been our worst

I think Wichita St. had him scouted well. I saw a few plays early when they dumped to whoever Carlton was guarding and the man Akok was guarding rolled underneath and out to take him away from the play.

Carlton has to execute the gameplan. You could Hurley wanted to force their center to drive left but Carlton let him go right every single time. It seemed like everybody in the building (coaches, announcers and fans) knew what to do but Carlton.

Coaches have to understand who their studs are and how to design offensive plays for them.

I absolutely love Akok.

That said, he's a freshman. He's gonna have some duds.

Same with Bouknight and especially Gaffney.

But at least with these guys, the talent is unmistakable. If Hurley can develop them, good days are surely ahead.

How big a "neg" can a guy be in a game that went to 2 OT versus a Top 20 team? He's our only big, he played his balls off and got a double-double. I'll repeat what I said in the chat room: You guys killing Josh all suck.
He had a double double... several back breaking defensive lapses and lost rebounds. He just isn't a good player at this point, but they have no other option.
