i figured this deserved its own thread -- easily one of the best uconn articles i have read this year. i didn't realize that lofton and osun went to putnam with akok.

Can’t read it but as long as it’s Akok’s thread what does everyone think is the problem why he won’t try anything offensively Either on the floor or long range? He’s pretty much a rebound put back guy at this point.

I was thinking that it was more of a strength issue because his defenders are usually much more solidly built than he is. Never bothered Malik Sealy or other skinny guys but with Akok he seems scared to put the ball on the floor and pull up.

i guess it depends on your definition of the word. shot a confident 2/3 on wide-open corner threes. other points came (i believe) on a transition lob from jackson, a nice pick-and-roll feed from gaffney, and an easy put-back. he was probably most aggressive around the rim on defense and got some loud blocks because of it. overall, he was in all of the right spots, particularly in the first half when the huskies were struggling to score.
