IMO, taking your time to write a farewell message and directly communicating it to certain people before announcing to the general public is something you do if you’re leaving. If you’re staying you fire off a two word Tipton edit. Hoping for the best but Planning for the worst.

I think Alex ought to adjust to the fact that he’s going to have an absolutely killer career in professional basketball, in some other country, and then relax and come back for one more natty and his name on the wall, while shooting 43% from 3.

We can't afford another nearly full season shooting slump, and neither can Karaban's professional aspirations. I love Alex and the role he played in winning two National Championships, but his performance handcuffed the team last year. I think a change is in the best interest of Alex and the program.
