By all accounts Xavier's best player is Paul Scruggs who was held to nine points with AJ being the main defender. To ask a freshman playing in hid 3rd game to guard a player as talented, experienced and physical as Scruggs is alot to ask and AJ was up to the task. Nice job AJ.

He has some normal freshman lapses but his size and athleticism play well most of the time on the defensive end. He seems to really cut down passing lanes because of that length and quickness. No one wants to be the one that lets him out on a breakaway.

Yeah, I liked his quickness especially the way he moved his feet. That, his athleticism and his height give him an advantage over any guards he will cover as well as a lot of 3's. Definitely needs to get as much floor time as possible and probably at the expense of Gaffney.

He isn’t fundamentally sound. But he’s disruptive anyway. Quick feet, quick hands, long arms, height, great instincts for disrupting passing lanes (best we’ve had since Nadav). So while he gets burned or commits bad fouls now and then, I suspect a lot of passes, shots, and would be drives are never even attempted because of him. Akok has a similar effect, they have to account for him.

Imo, all Andre needs to do tighten it up a bit and he's on his way!

Most of the defense on Scruggs was Jackson.
Now Jackson is disrupted .
AJ had a great game

With Scruggs getting 12 dimes I'm not sure cutting down the passing lanes was the defensive strong point I think Scruggs had a lot of trouble getting a shot off against AJ and Freemantle bailed him out - alot
