AJax to starting lineup

From an ESPN story:

"He brings energy," Antetokounmpo said of Jackson's presence in the starting lineup. "He plays his a** off, guards the best player. We play faster. He was incredible today. We definitely need that. We need that spark. We need to play with that energy."
In today's NBA, an endorsement from the team superstar is huge. The only downside fo his play is that it makes Doc look good. But Doc was smart enough to have his first start against the lowly Jazz.

You're suggesting we should have benched our All American PG? This is a real thought?
Because there's a chance that if he did, they might have won every game by 16 points. Jackson was named starter due to merit in his 2nd year and the team played their best game. Leaving was clearly the right choice for all parties. Doc said, "Defensively I thought he pitched a shutout almost on anybody he guarded. " That will keep you employed.

So happy for Andre. He had the type of Andre game we came to know and love. He makes winning plays and his energy is infectious to the team. His D on the other teams best guard allows Dame to not be exposed there. This wasn't a spot start for an injury like Hawk has been getting, either. Only Middleton is hurt and he would replace Prince. Hopefully these starts begin to pile up for him.

Man, it feels great to be able to have a UConn guy playing in the NBA just about every single night now.

They are both great players, and you can scheme around having one non-shooting guard if they do that many other things well, but the two of them in a modern offense would have been a disaster, hypothetically of course.
I dont think it would’ve been that bad. Think Castle’s shooting woes are hidden a lot more if he’s an on ball playmaker rather than an off ball guy.

Plus those 2 on the defensive end with Clingan would’ve just been hell for teams.

But it’s a hypothetical so we don’t have to go back and forth about this much. Just of the opinion Andre had a lot more to gain NBA wise/room to improve coming back for another year than Newton, and I don’t think it would’ve changed the result much.

The way he plays, the excitement he brings to the floor, and we saw it so often where he scored like 8 points but changed the whole game. The most fun player to watch in a UConn uniform.

Keeping Giannis happy should be Milwaukee’s #1 priority given some of the cryptic comments made before the season. If Andre can have more performances like last night, they should give him consistent minutes.

Granted it was against one of the worst teams in the league, but Giannis and Dame both had great games last night. Andre can focus on doing the dirty work for them

Heck, if that had happened, we might/could have won the NCAAT, that year....

Oh, ....wait....

We won a national championship and he was drafted and signed a guaranteed contract. It's safe to say the right decision was made
I don't think he meant imagine if... FOR HIM, but for the team that was already head and shoulders above everyone else.

Judging by those clips, he figured out how to guard NBA players real quick. He has a great combination of length, twitch and the ability to switch and stay in front of guys.

That on-ball defense is All-Defensive worthy stuff. not even using his hands to stifle a PG multiple times. Wow

Doc wouldn’t start anybody under 28 if he could get away with it. He’d play ISO offense at a glacial pace. He is only playing Jackson out of desperation.

He's probably the worst coach in the league. It's amazing he keeps getting great jobs.

He was ok in the ISO era, but like Ollie, he never left it. Has no real place in modern basketball.
