Not sure if everyone can see it, but here is the link to the article: http://goo.gl/CPvVe

Some key points:
  • Mentions A LOT of teams going after him: Indiana, Florida, FSU, MQ, Kansas, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Texas, Texas Tech, but none are standing out to him yet.
  • Will cut list to 10 in July before Peach Jam
  • Trying to visit UConn and Florida in May
  • Explains what he is looking for in a school:
"To have a great relationship with the head coach -- somebody who could be a father figure," Hill said. "To have teammates that feel like my brother -- we could do anything together. Have a great atmosphere -- feels like I never left home. And somewhere I know I can be in a safe place around my team and my coaches. That's about it."
Father figure as coach? Check. Brotherhood amongst teammates? Check. Family atmosphere? Check.

Also, saw this quote from him earlier in the week from an Indiana website:
“Some schools may want me to play a combo guard so it’ll help me a lot, being able to change directions and make plays at either of the guard spots,” Hill told 247Sports last weekend at an EYBL event in Los Angeles. “I think I could evolve into a combo guard if the school I go to runs one guard, two or three guard lineups. A school like UConn where the guards are interchangeable, I can definitely help them out.”

It's always a good sign when a recruit mentions your program specifically and points out some unique aspect as well. KO has a ton of chips on the table with a whole slew of 2014 recruits. It will be interesting to see how many of these battles UConn will win and if the wins will align with the ones that KO and the staff feel are the best Husky fits.

I have a feeling that KO is not just going to only look at the hoops skills of these recruits, but also put high marks on character, teamwork and leadership. I want a team that is stocked with "you can't beat me" type players like Bazz, Kemba, Ricky and other great Husky greats of the present and past. It's not always the team with the most talent that cuts down the nets and is the last team standing. Granted, the talent needs to be there, but the heart to out will their opponents, win those 50/50 balls on the floor and off the glass, launch those shots with the conviction they'll go in when it counts most (winning time!), etc. is what will hang another championship banner.

I can't wait to see what type of teams KO assembles and witnessing his first of what I hope is many NCAA Championship celebrations as the clock goes to 0:00! JC has his 77-74. What will KO's call numbers be? Hopefully it will be kids like Ahmed Hill that will be a part of this new Husky era.

May seems to be turning into quite an important recruiting month for KO and the Huskies.

I want Ahmed Hill and Daniel Hamilton.

I don't have the link but I read somewhere that Hamilton is taking an official to UConn in early May. I'm surprised there isn't a thread on DH here
