I’m looking forward to next week and Peach and the fourth session. We have four good games before we can roll into Peach. So I’m looking forward to that. I really like the form on this kids shot. Just from the highlights and the shot, I’m gonna assume he’s a great shooter.

Thanks for actual info on the kid. Have we ever had a player from Utah? I think maybe one but I can't remember.
 
Kid is very smooth. Handle and jumper look clean and he seems to move the ball well within the offense, but he is 6'4-6'5 and plays below the rim. He also doesn't have a ton of lateral quickness on D - at least from what I've seen. He looks like he could play the Newton/lead guard role for sure, but his ceiling is more limited than someone like Jahda Swann, who's a defensive menace and plays above the rim, but doesn't have the advanced feel for creating for teammates yet.
 
From Peach Jam. Coaches can't attend until Thursday.

4-Star PG Junior County seems to have good things happen around him when he is on the floor. Playing 25 minutes in the loss, the Utah Prospects were +10 when he was on the floor. County is a big-bodied lead guard. He consistently touched the paint and he moved the ball. County also showed some intriguing defensive versatility. While his counting stats were not off the charts, his impact was noticeable. County finished the Peach Jam loss finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds.

I think there was something about the old days where most of the info we got was from the newspaper that made me memorize the name of every city and town where our recruits came from. I didn't even have to think of a second before "Sandy, UT" popped into my brain. Coatesville, PA; Federal Way, WA; Dalzell, SC; etc.

My PA youth hockey travels bring me all around the state and I’m always telling my kid “Coatesville, that’s were Rip Hamilton is from, Reading, that’s were Donyell Marshall is from, Allentown, that’s where Tyrese Martin’s from”, etc. He rolls his eyes but it’s a brief moment of excitement for me in the car at 6am on a Sunday morning…
 
4-Star PG Junior County plays a steady game, typically getting his guys into sets and moving the ball toward to proper advantage. He has good size as a lead guard and he finished plays well in this one. While County is not the most dynamic guard in the building he is steady. He needs to continue adding strength and tightening up the jump shot. County finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in this one.

Darius just went to Maryland, so I kinda think they don't make his final cut.
 
Hurley watching County playing against Samuels instead of Howard in the same time window feels a bit significant from a tea leaf perspective. Kimani watching Howard.
 
6’4 PG is nice, but will a 4 star PG ranked in top 30 be willing to come off the bench behind Silas and possibly even compete for bench minutes if we grab a backup G in the portal next summer? Seen this story a few times already

I’m guessing they’re being very honest with recruits about the situation.

They might be expecting Demary to make the pro leap, he tested the draft this off season. Or if Demary isn’t good enough for the league, you mutually part ways with whichever top 30 PG commits, and look for a backup in the portal again.

I’m not sure County profiles as a day 1 starter based on what I’ve seen though. Having a year behind Demary would be great for his development. That’s my ideal scenario anyways.
 
One of the most complete two guard prospects in the country, County's ascension up the ranks and steady improvement over the last 12 months has been impressive to see. He is a wise decision maker with the ball, has a projectable frame that will easily carry more weight and when set he has the tools to be one of the better shooters in the class. His ability to operate as a secondary playmaker for others should also give him a chance to develop into a player that has the ball in his hands in a position to initiate offense more as he settles in on the college level.
