I don't see a link for it anywhere but Carl has a lengthy article in Wednesday's JI on
Molly.
Reader's Digest summary: Molly says that watching the UConn games is 'an event in my house'.
Hmmm...sounds like members of The Boneyard. She hopes to be at some future games...maybe during the AAC tourney or during the NCAA tourney. She mentions the possibility of graduating on May 30 and beginning her UConn career on May 31...when the first summer session begins. Tabor is 10-1 so far [Class A New England Prep League] and clearly she has winning the end of season tourney in her mind.

She hopes to talk to Geno about attending one of the sessions over Feb. 21-23 when the USA Senior team workouts are held. Wonder if the UConn team members will be allowed to watch? How about media?
How about fans? The South Carolina commit on Tabor's team lauds Molly for her all-out effort/work habits etc. Molly has a key to the Tabor gym for 24/7 practice if she chooses to. She sounds like a quintessential gym rat. Maybe some Mel Thomas in her?

Can't wait to see her on the court in Storrs! I wonder where the Class A all-star game is being held? Loomis has hosted it in the past on occasion...hope it finds it way there again this March.

BTW: Kyla Irwin went for 43 on Tuesday for her State College High in Pa.

I like the fact that Irwin is showing continued aggressiveness here towards the end of the season.....going for 43pts.

Great stuff. Thanks so much Blake! I am excited to see Molly and Kyla when they get to college. Soon enough we will be able to see what kind of role they will be able to carve out at UCONN. With Boykin leaving, it opens the door for Irwin, and I hope she busts right through it!

"We don't want to get away from our roots, and Molly is the kind of kid that has helped us become who we are.
When you see her play next year, you'll understand why." ~ UConn basketball staff

hmm
hmmm... Geno is listed at 6'1". ESPN must be wrong: Molly's not a 5'8" guard but really another power forward....Molly was avidly pursued by Brown (in her backyard) and Princeton (hottest Ivy WCBB team). Folks were surprised that someone with her GPA and extra-curriculars didn't go in that direction. But I bet there's no better education anywhere than 2 hrs/day with Prof. Geno "Too Tall" Auriemma.

You're right. I just googled Geno. They've got him listed as 6'1". Unless Molly is standing on a riser or platform, any document or roster listing her at 5'8" is erroneous. She appears to be the same height as Geno. We can always use another tall guard. ;)

I didn't think so either, that's why I googled him. He does not look that tall on TV. I'd love to see him up close in person.
Then I could tell.

Can anyone that's observed Geno "in person" up close verify his alleged height please?

Thanks. On TV, he looks like the shortest 6'1" I've ever seen. When he's interviewed with Lobo and LaChina, they tower over him.

I was drinking in the bar with him last thanksgiving weekend - definitely looked down on the top of his head and I am 6'1" in my dreams.

I've stood next to Coach. He's 5'8", maybe 5'9". There's a reason he really liked Renee--she was shorter than him.

Molly is the hardest working kid some people have ever seen. She'll fit right in.

Someone wrote that Kyla has some Morgan Tuck in her. I like that.

And Crystal clearly has a lot of Moriah in her. That's Moriah Jefferson, 2nd best player in the country. Yikes!

This year's recruits are going to surprise a lot of people. They're under the radar, which isn't a bad thing. Molly, Kyla and Crystal are going to be incredible players for the Huskies!
