Sorry to see Chong and Butler can not play tonight.. really wish to see them ASAP.

Butler might play, is how I read it: ". . . Auriemma is hopeful redshirt sophomore center Natalie Butler(left thumb) can make her UConn debut."

Natalie's saying not ready was for the earlier expectation that she would play, not tonight's game.

Last year Kia blew me away when she used the word "kerfuffle" in an interview. It's a rarely used word and demonstrates how smart she is. In Carl's article, she is quoted as saying that she is happy to be a part of her brother's "journey." That sort of perspective in a young person is unexpected and truly remarkable. Kudos to Kia.

She is definitely (IMO) the most well-spoken member of the team and sharp as a tack.

I don't know what her major is, but I could imagine her having a successful career in broadcasting.

While watching on TV I [think] I saw Natalie's left hand with no wrap. Is that accurate? If so, that would be encouraging.

She hasn't had a wrap for a while now. The cast came off a month ago and any brace or bandage has been off for a few weeks.

I think this may be the result of an education system heavily influenced by the British system - it typically includes much more oration including in some instances oral exams as well as written ones. Between that and likely more essay requirements in secondary schools, proper use of language gets more focus.

Yes the wrap is off. However, when Pulido scored and Stewart high-fived (high-tened) everyone, Butler only used her good hand. :(

Hopefully one more week.

The link is to Carl's blog on a couple of topics including Kia going to see her brother play and a question that Geno asked Natalie recently. Hoping to see her on the court tonight....not just courtside.
With Natalie not feeling she is ready---what happens when, say in the SC game, Stewie is in Foul trouble, will Natalie be ready to dig in deep an without playing time be READY to help?? Doubtful.
Will we see her get some limited time in the MD game?? Soon very soon she will be needed.

I would be curious to know if any of our skiers ever suffered Natalie's injury and how long their rehab was?
