Sounds like Moriah kept busy after returning from Lithuania:
“I have a best friend named Jeremy Atkins, and he’d wake me up at 6 in the morning and I was like, ‘Alright I’m ready, let’s go!’ So we used to go and play one-on-one challenging each other. We’d be playing for like three hours and wouldn’t even know it because we were having fun. We would shoot like 500 shots in the morning, 500 shots in the evening and 500 shots at night. So we were like, ‘Keep doing it, keep doing it until the point where it was second nature.’ It was like, ‘The game is easy again, because I’m playing a lot more.’ “
Geno is hoping she plays like Rita Williams did in '97:
“She started off this year kind of where she left off last year,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. “She is comfortable. She is confident. Her personality is to have fun.
“It’s kind of like Rita Williams from her sophomore to junior years. But Rita was fortunate to play behind Jennifer Rizzotti and then she stepped in and we never missed a beat. I hope Moriah has the same kind of year that Rita had that year in ’97.”
