Geno was in Storrs today and tonight and he'll be coaching practice and attending the football game on Saturday. Maybe his assistants? Where is this information coming from?

Last night 'Coach Bill',who identifies himself as a talent evaluator and a writer for WiseEYEsports blog, tweeted that Lexi had coaches from Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech and Arizona State in the gym to see her. And he also named Geno as an attendee. Mechelle Voepel and Texas United Nike are among his Twitter followers.

Yes, Geno was definitely in Texas Tuesday evening to watch Lexi Gordon play. The question was whether he was in Texas on Wednesday to attend games/practices of the other players mentioned. Clearly he was not but perhaps one of his assistants was recruiting in Texas on Wed.

Me buds with Svetlana? I wish! I'm pretty sure my wife would not allow it. She barely tolerates my obsession with all things Maya!
Last month there was discussion about these Russian in the Lauren Cox thread I believe which prompted me to write the post below. Svetlana would/could be a great resource but I'm sure if we can speculate on it the UCONN staff has already thought of something even better.

I mentioned this in a post last month but, interestingly, no one picked up on it. I said then that I would love her, the forward and pg, but Dangerfield would have to give her approval for the latter. Thinking about it ow, I am incline to say that her English may not be up to University standard (could be the same w/ Duke and Salvorde?). But more. If she is on the Russian Natl Team they may not want her out of Russia; also, the club teams are probably throwing money at her- I doubt any of these players are willing to go overseas for an educ that they could get in Moscow or St. Petersberg. But never say never.

Hope they're not paying them in Rubles.

Go back and check, I'm pretty sure I responded to your post.

This #32 kid is definitely too small to play big time D1 ball, but it might be worth Geno checking her out anyway while in Texas. She might become a decent backup player coming off the bench at the college level, not sure, but worth a look. Hey, you never know.

CocoHusky, Are we still recruiting Kushkituah? Do you have any opinion on Eleah Parker? I saw her play two years ago and while still pretty young and raw at that time, has good upside due to great athleticism. Haven't seen her since due to being out of the country.
Kushkituah is thought to be a heavy Lady Vols lean She may have recently visited Lady Vols on her own dime since she is not eleigible for an "official" visit. I have not heard of any UCONN interest.
Kushkituah did well at last USA basketball age group trials but did not make the team. I was surprised to read that she is relatively new BB as in only 3 or 4 years in BB total. That can be good and bad. Good if she gets the right coaching and training bad if she doesn't.
Had to do some research on Parker. From what I see very athletic and mobile. I keep an eye on her.

I hope UCONN signs Charli also but IMO UCONN needs another big (in 2017) before she gets to campus because Butler will have graduated leaving freshmen Charli as the only true post player on the roster. The other Texan 2017 Jade Williams will help but she is more 3-4 not really 4-5.
Personally I like the foreigners Julia Reisigerova or anyone from the Russian U19 frontline.
Yes, I'm ready for another"ova".

I hear UConn is recruiting Iwana Playlarg and Ima Quickone from Hungary for the 2017 season really hard. One is 6'-7" and the other is a waterbug 5'3". They've been dominating the European circuit for the past 4 seasons. Sources say they are unstoppable!!
You got her name wrong. It's Ivanna Stepovaya and she's 6'7".

Actually, Stepovaya is 6'13", and she still has four years of eligibility left, but at 43 she is a little long in the tooth for college ball. Yet another instance of Geno dropping the ball. (His failure to recruit her may have been the result of a reluctance to have another player who would pretend not to understand English when he told her to pass the ball.)

Her daughter is 5-2"...in second grade. I hear Geno is not gonna make that mistake again. Sent her Rosetta stone for Xmas.

Bob Corwin's Texas Invitational recap:

Jade Williams, 6-3, center, Prestonwood Christian Academy (Plano, Texas)

Williams made the USA U16 team this past spring. At times in Allen, she looked the part, while at other times she looked passive needing to play harder and show more toughness. With medium-solid build and wide shoulders, she can finish in style with either hand around the basket. In her team's 57-54 loss to Wagner High School, she scored 19 points but missed five foul shots in the fourth quarter.

Charli Collier, 6-4, center/forward, Barbers Hill High School (Mont Belvieu, Texas)

Charli, her real name, is considered one of the very top prospects in the 2018 class. Being right-handed, she has a fine left-hand finish around the rim. From the foul line, she drives effectively to the basket. Collier's passing skills are above average. She can spot up on the perimeter, but this is the one area that needs to become more consistent or be attempted less (as opponents want her to take this kind of shot).

DiDi Richards, 6-2, small forward, Cypress Ranch High School (Cypress, Texas)

Richards can finish at the rim with contact but also has an ability to pull up for the mid-range jumper. She still needs to become more consistent with her three-point shooting. At one point committed to Texas, she is currently on the market recruiting wise.

Morgan might leave early. Natalie might leave early. How about enjoying their time as Huskies, and if they decide to leave early, then that's what's best for them. Why dwell on something that will probably never happen.

Because I want the best of all possible outcomes. I have and will continue to enjoy Morgan and Natalie in a UCONN uniform and wish them both well if they decide to leave early. If they do decide to leave early UCONN still has to field a team capable of defeating the pretenders. Some of us like to look head and speculate which HS players will be a best fit for UCONN. This is nothing new we certainly dwelled on Stewie and Moriah & Morgan coming in also.

Saw this recently:
Eleah Parker, Northside Christian (North Carolina)

A 6-4 junior, Parker posted 62 points and 65 rebounds in three games at the Hoodies House event, one of the best performances in the tournament’s history. She was named to the all-tournament team.

Mudcat I'm watching. Parker has also posted 2 youtube videos recently. This being her last AAU season she needs to find a better AAU program IMO. In all the videos she is four to six inches bigger than the the next biggest player on floor so it is hard to evaluate her skill set. She moves very well. It has been many years since I did Deep South Classic so I couldn't tell you who has best AAU program in Charlotte Area. She'll get a D1 scholarship easy but to make a leap to top 15 Program she is going to need better AAU competition and some individual skills work.
