What are they supposed to think when we keep promoting this? It is printed on the basketball court. Has been used in multiple promotions time and again. Opposing coaches recruiting football players simply have to say do you want to play football at a basketball school.
Something DB should address, arrogance is just making the target on your back that much larger. That and doing nothing to help other sports recruit. Right now we are just a stepping stone for football coaches.
Thought DB giving Mora another shot at coaching with a week long interview had me hooked. That thinking he would finish out here, got fooled again.

How is that any different from hiring an assistant coach from another school? Or hiring a successful FCS head coach? UConn hired Diaco an assistant coach without really knowing him and how did that turn out?

its not different but the span of control for a new head coach at the FBS level can be overwhelming. I would want to provide Sammis (or any other new head coach) with the resources needed to navigate player evaluation, roster retention and the portal. That seemed to be second nature to Mora based on his experience. It wasn’t intended to be a swipe @ Sammis.

We'll always be a stepping stone until we get into a power conference. You can't build a consistently successful program that way. That's almost more important than the coach we hire.

This can be solved easily and quickly. Write ‘Connecticut Football and Apizza Capital of the World” on the field at the Rent.

I’d give credit to whoever said it - but Jerry Kill is a pretty good call, assuming he’s healthy enough. AD Dave already has that relationship.

Kill stepped away form New Mexico St. 2 years ago after 2 seasons. And, he turns 65 before next season. Unfortunately, I don't think he is a candidate.

He would be a great DFO candidate, especially if the HC ends up on the greener side.
