"A Big Ten official told ESPN earlier in the season that the Big Ten would have an East Coast rotation for its tournament in later years, with the additions of Rutgers and Maryland, with possible destinations being New York or Washington, D.C.

The A-10 is also looking at sites for 2018 and beyond and is open to moving its tournament around, possibly returning to the Philadelphia area or Washington, D.C.

Multiple ACC sources said the league is well aware of the A-10's deal with the Barclays and that no deal has been signed. The ACC would like to get into Madison Square Garden, but MSG has a deal with the Big East through 2026, according to SI.

A source with connections to MSG told ESPN during the season that the arena would love to have the Big East and the ACC in the same week but that would mean having the Big East move earlier in the week, a move that is unlikely to occur."

My guess is that the Big Ten is probably not going to hit New York before 2020 - DC makes more sense, at least initially.

In basketball terms, the ACC would be bringing Duke and Syracuse, both of whom draw in New York - that makes more sense than the Big Ten who would be coming to New York just for the sake of coming to New York.

billy being a longtime(30yrs) NYC resident I agree MSG is the Mecca of the sports and media world surrounded by the cultural mecca at least of the USA and anything you would want "citywise" is in walking distance for a relatively healthy person or if not its also in the transportation(all kinds) hub to take you there!! if you're looking for the Appalachian trail or the Redwood forest its the wrong place though. I love nature and wildlife including wildlife city style though I'm single. Very expensive especially now though!

There were less than 500 people in the stands for the Wednesday games in Memphis.

Wow I was on an Oklahoma board and a couple of posters said the AAC had more fans for a doubleheader in Memphis than the ACC had the same day for a triple header and I was dumbfounded !?! Knowing how big the ACC is on hoops it was hard to believe so I had to ask.

Never been in a casino. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee are building a new casino and 300 room hotel about 20 minutes from my North Carolina mountain cabin.

I might catch a show or two...but I am not a gambler.

I don't know about the AAC, but the crowds didn't really show up at the ACC tournament until Thursday. The Wednesday games weren't full. But by Thursday through Sunday, the arena was full.

Miami - Virginia Tech, Notre Dame - Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech - Boston College in Greensboro on Wednesday weren't exactly hot tickets.

Penn St. is huge in NYC, though not too relevant for basketball. Michigan actually above Indiana alumni wise in NYC (where do you think all of their fans came from for the football game at the Rent?) with State, Ohio St, and Northwestern strong, too. Overall I call it a draw right now between the ACC (Syracuse, ND, Duke) and the B1G (Rutgers, Penn St, Michigan). UConn would make either conference the leader, especially as UConn is pushing out more undergraduates a year (18K enrollment) than the 3 ACC market leaders do - Duke 9K, ND 8K, Syracuse 14K.
