Thomas and Rodgers very good for the Terps and Marshall of GT has a nice shot...unfortunately not a good selection on that last one.

Triad--I don't like MD either, but what's your opinion of Thomas?

An absolute beast. If there are better sophomores in the country, it cant be more then a handful.

These Maryland fans are making me sick to my stomach

Good tournament for Tech. They came up just a little short today.

I also understand. Used to live not too far from there.... I think it's the excessive humidity.... easily the worst on the entire east coast, and it just makes people generally miserable.

Thomas was the tourney MVP, as she scored at least 18 in each game and tallied a career-high 29 in the finals. Clutch!

Really? We must live near each other.
The student fans at UMD are just bad. Rude, crude, loud, and uninspired. Their idea of a clever insult always includes profanity.

Hey, Triad, I'm glad you're getting a good game. Go Tech!

Yes.... turned out to be a really good game. I have wondered for years, what the attendance would be for a championship final that didnt include either Duke or UNC... and I was pleasantly surprised at the announced crowd of 9,100 +. Thats down from previous years... might be the lowest final attendance since they moved to Greensboro in 2000. Good to see the community come out support these women. Even though both Duke and UNC were both out of the tournament by dinner on Friday.... overall attendance was up this year over last.

Ursus, thanks for confirming that. Everytime I have said that concerning the MD games at PSU some folks don't believe when I say how crude their fans are. And it isn't like one or two. There are whole sections.

I saw a nasty sign at a volleyball game once that I'm sure the maker thought was very clever way of dropping an f-bomb in foot-high letters. You can't say it on TV, but you and your friends think it's appropriate to hold over your head in front of hundreds of people, including dozens of kids?
We got a campus wide email after the first football game because some father complained to the athletic department about the students. He took his kid to his first-ever football game. Kid had trouble seeing over all the other fans, so he accidentally cheered for the other team on one play. Student in front of them turned around and yep, you guessed it, dropped a f-bomb. To a ten-year old.
This is normal for our undergrads, which is why there were police in riot gear hanging out in one of our auditoriums the night of the Duke basketball game. Just in case.
