Yeah, about that ND-Miami game...trying to manufacture some intrigue where there was none. Absolute blowout at the half.

Several much more interesting ACC games going on currently.

Has anything been announced, re: Utsby?
Heard just now during half time of a different game she is week to week, didn't travel with the team to Syracuse.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Louisville/Duke should be close.

I know that Louisville is 11-3, but look who they've played and look at who they have left (including tonight). They could lose out (not likely, but possible).
I'm not sure which way you thought it would go with the win Louisville has the fourth place spot in the ACC tournament with three games left. #9 UNC and Clemson at home then at ND to end the regular season. So they could go 1-3 if you follow the ratings.

Duke has Syracuse and UNC at home then at FSU. So they should go 2-3 but I think Louisville still holds fourth based on head to head. Corrections welcome.

State bounced back in Atlanta. Led the majority of the game, Zoe had a really solid game start to finish. Her and James paced State in the first half and the Wolfpack led by 6 at the break. GT actually came back and took their first and only lead of the game briefly in the 3rd and Wes went to his bench with James and Brooks sitting and State went on a massive run (maybe 14-0 or so) to end the quarter and lead by double figures heading to the 4th.

Was fun to see State play so well with 3 freshmen on the court for a stretch there. A little glimpse of the future with Quigley, Zam and Trygger.

Rivers and Hayes came alive during that stretch as well.

Hayes doesn’t get much hype or credit when it comes to individual awards and all conference talk - but she is a rock for this team. Best rebounder and 3 point shooter. Always makes the smart play. Just a good, solid winner.

February had 5 ranked opponents on deck for State with 3 on the road. So far State is 3-1 with the toughest to date due up Sunday in Raleigh. (Although they 1 in the L column stung blowing a 6 point lead late :/). Not sure State can do it against the Irish, but excited for what should be a great atmosphere Sunday.

I tuned in to the final 3-4 minutes of Duke and Louisville … is Cameron always so dead for women’s games? Was surprised how lifeless and empty it was for a pretty good opponent.

Am I crazy for thinking that Duke could potentially lose to Syracuse?

Probably. Syracuse lost to UNC tonight. I was there and the fans showed up and were loud. But mannnnn the Orange could NOT capitalize on a damn thing. So many missed bunnies. So many squandered fast break points. It’s just so painfully obvious that they are missing key pieces — to put it plainly, they need a couple of talented players. Also wow they need to get some players out there with some basketball IQ.

However, they’re still looking for their signature win for the season and Duke is just so mediocre. So I guess the stars could align.

There was a 7" snowfall but I also think Duke cares much more about the men.

Can we talk about Louisville now? Have been completely off the radar since probably December, quietly improved to 12-3 in the ACC, just knocked off Duke on the road.
Nothing flashy about Louisville to get people excited - but well coached and solid. I’ve kind of wondered why they hadn’t snuck back into the top 25 before now. I don’t think they are world beaters, but they played a rough schedule. 7 losses are to UCLA, UConn, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, NC State, Kentucky and Va Tech. Nothing embarrassing there. Va Tech is the only one that is disappointing. Now with wins over Cal, Duke, GT and FSU.

I didn't think we'd lose to unranked Louisville at home, but here we are.

I'm more worried about likely losing out on a 2-seed in the NCAAs than anything else.

My sister is in Durham and guessed they had 4”. I’m about 40 minutes east and we got 2ish. The roads are definitely icy and classes are canceled all around.

Maybe it was just students showing up mainly or whoever could walk to the gym

You’d be a little crazy to predict a Syracuse win. But could they? Sure. They played UNC close, took State to the wire. Anything can happen. But IMO Duke is better than UNC - and if you don’t have good guard play Duke will turn you over and speed you up and make it hard to run your stuff. If you have athletes who can win one on one, Duke can be had.

The men put a better product on the court, so you can't blame them for that.

And I say that as someone who, at one time, supported the women more than the men.

Duke has opportunities to climb up to a 2 seed. Win out and that means beating a top 10 UNC team and top 25ish FSU. Thats 2 quality wins to add to the resume. Do that and then win a couple in the ACCT and it could happen depending on how others do.

At the moment Duke is probably a 3 and flirting with a 4 if they were to lose to UNC again and FSU or dropped one early the conference tournament.

Sounds good in theory, but in practice?

A Quad 2 loss this late in the season for a team looking for a 2-seed just won't cut it. We're in a similar position as Ohio State right now.

I don’t genuinely believe Syracuse can win. But you know how there are some teams where they’re always going to get everyone’s best game? It feels sometimes like Syracuse gets everyone’s (who is better than them) worst game. I think Syracuse lulls the opponent to sleep …

But also if you told me Duke will win by 20 I wouldn’t be shocked.

Stanford comes from behind to force OT and then goes ahead and picks up the win at VA Tech. Clardy went off w/ 30.

edit--also 15 for Ogden and 10 for Ijiwoye. No Agara, and Demetre and Bosgana only scored 8 combined, doesn't really seem like a recipe for a win.

Yeah. You might be right.. SC mbb is garbage.

Yeah... I was thinking, no alcohol has been in my house since the McCallie administration..... But a trip to the ABC store might be on the horizon
We're not there yet. Now, if we lose next Thursday...

So you think it's ok to have women's basketball played with no one in attendance?
