2026 Recruiting: Abdou Toure update from aaron torres

wasnt there a recruit (or recruits) that kept on including us in their lists until they made their final decision even though we had stopped actively recruiting him/them? is this similar or are we really still invovled here? i have no clue. any crystal balls?
Wasn’t that Meleek Thomas?

I do remember that - Acaden Lewis?

My uneducated guess is if it’s about NIL $ we aren’t going to match these two schools for this particular player.

Knowing the squid, the nil offer was contingent on Toure including UConn in the top three. Que the we beat UConn in their on backyard narrative.

Of course his teams can’t beat UConn on the court in March. You know it, I know it, Calipari knows it, everyone knows it.

Squid in his kitchen the week he announces his top 3, a little over a week before he dates his announcement? This one feels pretty obvious.

I think Providence makes a lot of sense for Toure. He's getting a nice payday wherever he goes, he'll be a big fish there and family and friends are close enough to see him play

This. I also believe Kim English is in desperation mode at this point. I think Toure is PVD bound.

Doubtful - can’t see an instate kid going 20 miles west to get beat up by the state school he passed up on, to go play for a guy who’s on the hot seat. Unless the NIL is that good.

This wreaks of Cal. Will be shocked if it was PC. English has been in the mix with a number of top players that he hasn’t landed. I think he has the $$ to flash, but don’t see many good reasons to play for him otherwise.

The only basketball-related reason for a top recruit to go to PC is "maybe the coach still has NBA connections, and everybody else is so bad that I'll be the superstar"

Niko Bundalo?

Noticed after interview where he said wanted to go where he could play through mistakes, Hurley said in last interview big problem last year was they had to let players play through defensive mistakes. Just sayin'
