AAC Tournament: Friday (SMU vs ECU, Memphis vs UCF, Tulsa vs Cincinnati)

WOW! LOL the second I posted saying wish someone would give them a taste of their own medicine ECU goes on an insane run. Gotta love March!
 
ECU down 3 with the ball coming out of a time out with 1:11 left. Pirates are 10-15 from 3 in the 2nd half

Great effort by ECU. They did indeed get better late in the year.
 
Can't believe that Barkley let that bounce off his hands and out of bounds. He's going to be thinking about that all off season.

Hopefully though ECU can build off this and move forward with positive energy. They are clearly better than they were in the beginning of this season. Barkley is a hell of a player. They can use this for positive energy going forward.

Now if ECU can do that to SMU, we are certainly capable of beating the Mustangs. We just need to have an insanely great shooting game.

Now I wonder if Barkely will transfer. Dude would have a lot of interest, including from local ACC teams like Wake Forest & NC State.

I hope he stays. The AAC is going to have some good core players returning on almost every squad next year:

Cincinnati: Gary Clark, Kyle Washington, Quadri Moore, Jarron Cumberland
SMU: Shake Milton, Semi Ojeleye, Emelogu
ECU: Kentrell Barkely, BJ Tyson
Temple: Obi Enechionya, Shizz Alston
Tulsa: everyone
UCF: Tacko Fall, BJ Taylor
Memphis: Dedrick Lawson (although he apparently might leave), KJ Lawson
Houston: Rob Gray, Wes VanBeck
 
Tacko is Brimah-like in his ability to get two quick fouls.
 
15-0 run for UCF. Gotta think they're the better matchup against SMU.

UCF now up 31-14. This game is a blowout. I think Tubby will do well at Memphis but it might take a little longer than many Tiger fans hoped
 
Damn, UCF came to play. I don't think they've missed a shot since I tuned in.

Will definitely root for them against SMU.

I wonder if there is a way that both UCF and Houston could get in. Meet in the finals if UH beats us and Cincinnati and UCF wins the tournament

Wow, UCF...not saying I'm glad we got the 6th seed instead of the 5th...but...maybe?

Agree – remember how they handled Cincinnati a couple of weeks back? Their defense and rebounding are legit.

Let's recall, though, that Memphis has basically quit on the season. So as well as UCF are playing, this still feels like something of an outlier.
