Good point. If Memphis wins out and we lose @ L'Ville, it should be UConn v SMU in the 4/5 matchup.[/quote
I think if
Assuming the best case scenario of us beating L'Ville on Sat:
If we're assuming Cinci will beat Rutgers then the Memphis @ Cinci game tonight doesn't matter to us. In that case, we need SMU to lose @ Memphis in order to get the 3 seed.
However, if Cinci loses out and SMU loses @ Memphis, we would be the 2 or 3 seed. I'm not sure which because I don't know what the tie breakers for the AAC are beyond head-to-head record.
Does anyone actually know the tie breaking rules for this conference? Also, correct me if I'm wrong about any of those scenarios. This can get confusing.
Thanks for info. I could be wrong, but the Cinci game does matter to us for 1 reason. If all the pro UConn events happen ( UM beats SMU , we beat UL ), then we would want Cinci to get 1 more loss. Assuming they are going to beat RU. Because then UL and Cinci would be tied for first, but I believe UL wins tie breaker and Cinci would be a 2 seed and us a 3 seed.
I would rather have to face Cinci in semi's then UL. Obviously a long shot for all these things to happen, but you can always hope.
And as they say . Be careful what you wish for, because it may come true.
