9 Wins 3 Losses

http://espn.go.com/college-football/scoreboard/_/group/151/year/2015/seasontype/2/week/1

Key Losses:

Former conference power UCF loses to FIU
Tulane has a disappointing loss to Duke. Was hoping for a little more there.

Key Wins:

Obviously Temple beating Penn State was huge. It was really a dominating second half. A mismatch that might have been stopped if it were a boxing match. Temple might stand between us and a bowl game at the end of the year.

Nice win by Navy. Yeah it was expected and a cupcake but the impact of another solid program in the league can't be understated. We need them to do well and lately they've been a consistent winning program and not a pushover for anyone.

South Florida. Sure it was another cupcake but scoring some points was huge for them and could lead to a competitive game against yep, FSU. Wouldn't that be something?

UConn. We needed some respect and this was step #1. Nobody is really going to notice until we compete against Missouri or BYU but looks a little less like a pipe dream after this week. We have work to do but something to build on. And it gives hope that Verducci could be a competent or better OC.

Blowouts for Houston, Memphis, Cincy and close wins for some teams that have real questionmarks ECU and Tulsa. Those could easily have been losses.

Not bad for week 1 and really a solid B given the expectations outside of the conference. Another week like this with at least 1 big upset and this could start to look like a bit of an upstart league. Could have been way worse. We could have been the B1G or the PAC.

Temple's win was by far the biggest. I wonder if it will translate into larger crowds going forward. They could really use more support.

Hard not to be impressed with Temple. They looked like a real deal FBS quality team. Big, fast and intense. Reminded me a bit of the Huskies of old circa 2009. I don't think Penn State is as offensively inept as Temple made them look. Their D line and LB corps are very atheletic and capable. Whether they can hold it together for a full season is another story.

Temple got good fast. Wasn't long ago they sucked and were looked at as a sure win. Watched a good portion of that game and they were tough and were the better team by far and they were cocky in a good way. Don't know about their depth as the season progresses but huskys will have to be at there best to beat the owls.
