AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Williams • Jr. • F • UConn
Williams averaged 15.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for top ranked UConn that included wins over No. 20 USF and SMU. The junior shot 55-percent (12-of-22) from the field over the week in only 23 minutes of action per game. Williams posted double-doubles in each contest and added 4.0 steals and 3.0 blocks per game on the defensive end. The Huskies won their 90th and 91st consecutive games last week and set a new NCAA mark for consecutive wins.

Has anyone other than a UConn player earned the AAC Player of the Week this season?

Congratulations Gabby on a continued job well done. She may well be AAC POY (Someone from Connecticut will be) :D

Wondering if a players from the same team can win Player of the Week and have a player selected to the Honor Role. Has it ever happened?

Do the AAC Teams make a nomination and then POW selected by the conference from the list of nominiatons?

And to think she does all this matched up against players bigger than she is, and in some cases, much bigger....! One heckuva valuable UCONN Husky..!

So Gabby is the third UCONN player to garner multiple AAC POW awards this year. Nice!

Yes! And, she does what she does on a knee that has been surgically repaired twice. I wonder if she ever got back to feeling like it was 100%.

Because they are unselfish and don't fill up the stat sheet

Plus now with the easier schedule when they really can pad the stat sheet they will get less minutes. Gabby did that avg 23mins.

I think Gabby, Lou or Pheese can get a triple double but Gabby would be the favorite to do it first. I thought Pheese might do it the other day the way she was blocking shots... Lou would need to be playing lower to the basket to have a better chance.

Why aren't UConn players being named ESPNW players of the week? Come on!!
Because Plum, as good as she is on offense, doesn't get called for her defense in POW voting. Besides, in that system she gets to hoist up 25-30 shots a game.
