I'm getting a strange Dallas Cowboys logo goes on a date with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade star kind of vibe. Or maybe the star is singing and dancing in the parade....but, it is growing on me.

I thought cone heads were a thing of the past....way back when....

A good solid design. Not all that creative, but I don't know that you need creative at this time. I believe it is better to appear established, "what's expected" and ready to be on task.
It's strong, American and athletic in its appearance.
The upward-pointing star is a nice touch and could gain a life of its own over time as a highlight.
I wish it were a bit more original, but I like it.
Nice job.
Now, regarding the name itself .....

Seems pretty accurate to me.

Lou & RU are out.
UConn and Cinci are actively trying to get out.
UCF, Houston, SMU, Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, Temple, and East Carolina are overjoyed at their new conference.

They are so new, they only have 1 foot in. ;) (meaning the other one is out)

Like the second one better. Not sure about that star (thingy) yet. Seems weird.
With the way the top of the star is enlongated and slightly pointing in a direction, you can pretend the star is making an obscene gesture to the schools now in the Big East.

Home is where the heart is........or in this case, where Uconn is.

Root for the conference, embrace the logo. Be a fan for crying out loud.

Nah, I prefer to think that the top of the star is pointing toward the school that all others in the conference will strive to become when they grow up.

I won't say I love it, but I don't hate it either. I can live with it.

I recently found a beach towel that the Big East gave away one year during the BET. Or, more accurately some bank (either People's or Webster) gave away for giving them your name and address. Kind of sad, really. It is so old, it had the U (Miami), BC and VT on it. I could keep it as a collectors item...by my two cats far prefer to sleep on it in the rocking chair.

Seriously dislike the font. It looks old and rigid.

The star with the extra-long point looks unbalanced.

The lighter color in the middle of the letters looks very "Hey, look what I did in Word with the Word Art feature!" And a shadow effect? Really?

It looks very 1997.

I'll embrace the conference but the logo? Nope.

Yeah I don't know who designed this font ...the A's look too small and the R looks wonky...This inner light burst seems a bit retro and dated. But as a soon to be graduate with a degree in Graphic design this kind of work gives me confidence that I will find a job...if someone can get money for this work
So really I guess I completely agree with Wally....I guess I'm just glad it's not my conference....?

It should say AAC somewhere. It looks like it should be on a beer can. Just take the NCAA log and reverse it then take off the N.

I agree it looks old, but I thought they did it on purpose, to make the league appear more established and in line with other leagues. Maybe I over thought it.

THe star is unbalanced, but it's pointing upward like an up arrow. They were going for the up arrow effect ... I don't have a problem with that. It's not a great logo, but it will work. And it could have been a lot worse.
