The AAC championship game is Sunday afternoon, @ 3:15pm. If UConn were to advance to this game, how would the selection committee view the Huskies, and in general, it would appear to be a detrimental factor for all teams including SMU and the Huskies.

The debate is on as to UConn having to win the conference championship or simply win remaining regular season games and get to the championship game.

The timing of the game is awful and the Selection Committee will likely make their decision/seeding and at-large bids for the AAC before the game is completed. Of course, they include a scenario for the possibility that UConn wins the game.

Has there been any consideration for moving up the start of the tourney to Wednesday and holding the championship game on Saturday? I thought the old BE was a great format and schedule.

This is when it's gonna be for a few years...too many better conferences to expect to keep Saturday night. Gonna have to get used to it. The committee will have multiple contingencies based on who wins the game if it's a question.

The BE plays their entire tournament on FS1. I'll take the Sunday champ game and the deuce.

This is television telling the American when they can hold their tournament.

The coverage isn't what we're used to, but it's not awful - the afternoon games on Friday and the games Saturday afternoon are on ESPN2 . Of course, the reward for finishing second and third in conference is a Friday night game in an empty XL on ESPNU.

I don't think the late finish will do much damage to the conference's seeding - after last year, it's fairly clear that the committee has contempt for the conference.

Big 10, ACC, and SEC all have this championship games on Sunday.

It should have no effect on seeding.

Didn't the ACC move to a Saturday final this year?

Yea, looks like they did.

Looks like they took the Old BE's primetime Saturday night spot
That's what I thought, which is why the American moved to Sunday.

If we are in that Championship game on Sunday and a tourney bid on the line....the XL Center is going to be juiced. Hope we keep up the momentum on Thursday night.
