Armed Forces Bowl vs. Big 12
AutoNation Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt
Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC
Marmot Boca Raton Bowl vs. Conference USA
Miami Beach Bowl vs. MAC
Military Bowl vs. ACC
Popeyes Bahamas Bowl vs. MAC
St. Petersburg Bowl vs. ACC

The American Athletic has secondary partnerships with the AutoZone Liberty and Camping World Independence.

Affiliations for 2016 pulled from here: 2016-2017 College Football Bowl Tie-Ins For Each Conference

Who goes where? Bowl eligible from the American so far is:

Navy
Houston
UCF
USF
Temple
Tulsa
Memphis

With SMU needing a win this weekend against Navy to go 6-6 and be bowl eligible (unlikely).

Interesting to me the East could only muster up 3 bowl eligible teams. Kind of sad.

I'll guess:

Armed Forces Bowl vs. Big 12 --Navy
AutoNation Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt --UCF
Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC--Houston
Marmot Boca Raton Bowl vs. Conference USA--Memphis
Miami Beach Bowl vs. MAC-- USF
Military Bowl vs. ACC--Temple
Popeyes Bahamas Bowl vs. MAC-- Tulsa
St. Petersburg Bowl vs. ACC-- Not filled

I expect Tulsa v/ Cent Michigan to be a dud attendance wise along with the Memphis v. WKU game.

All other games give the AAC team a chance to travel well.

I completely get the fan travel component but I think Temple as Conference Champ got hosed.

Agreed. Is the AAC Champion contracted to play in that game? 3-4 others would be better destinations or match ups. Strange.

Nope... the whole ESPN owns the bowls interference/match-up selections comes into play.

WKU is an entertaining team (so long as you dont like defense), so they could get some locals.

Interesting that Houston was able to get bumped to the PAC spot in the Las Vegas bowl, giving up the AAC spot in the Bahamas bowl. How does that work?

At least the AAC has access to some decent bowls. Overall can't really complain.

Temple got screwed - plain and simple
those 3 early ugly losses I guess did them in
what about recent performance????

While I liked your post and agree...It is simply the respect this conference garners at this time...:(

Decent chance to go 7-0. Get it done.

Houston will likely lay an egg with their coach gone against SD State. If Rhule or Taggart get poached you could see something similar in those.

I'm guessing 4-3 (losses being Houston, Memphis and UCF).

I agree with Houston. I'd actually go as a possible 3-4 with only UCF, Tulsa, and Temple getting the wins. USF was a toss up for me. However, I agree that if Rhule or Taggert get poached it might be different.

Temple, congrats! Get on that bus back to MD.
