Haven't seen anything about the other awards. Just what was posted on twitter. I went to the AAC website, just shows Meg won POY.

So for every year that UConn was in the AAC they have had the POY and three of more players on the first team. Anna makes the Freshman team, but didn't get the FOY which is a crock, she won the weekly award 4 times, more than anyone else but they give it a USF's Elena Tsineke.

Congratulations to all our Huskies for these well-deserved honors. Since UConn is leaving the AAC, it’s great to go out in style. Now the Huskies just have to take care of business in the conference tournament.

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything, and congrats to all our awardees, but if CW's play this year warrants first-team all-AAC honors, then it is surely a woefully inept conference and certainly time to get the heck out. Truthfully, this is embarrassing....

Don't kid yourself, it'll be more of the same next year despite the new conference.

I disagree. The honor is for AAC play, not OOC play. Christyn had some of her very best games in conference. In addition, Christyn has had a great season on the defensive side and she is probably the best rebounding guard in the AAC.

Unfortunately for Anna, November and December count, too.
That’s not actually correct. The honors are for in-conference play, not OOC play. UConn player only 1 conference game in Nov/Dec vs Temple. The rest of the AAC schedule was played after Jan 1.

Yes youre right. But I shouldve included January. In Jan she had 2 outstanding games vs AAC opponents Tulsa and ECU. Aside from those 2, she played another 6 AAC games that month. Here are her averages in those 6: 6.5ppg, 2apg, 4rpg in 26.1mpg.
Personally, I believe we have the 2 best freshmen in the AAC, especially recently. But Anna did struggle with consistency earlier in the season.

My understanding is that only in conference games are considered. She had only 4 games in single figures in conference play and had 20 or more 5 times including 26 against ECU and Cincinnati. She averaged 15 points and 4.5 boards. It didn't seem that way because of "the slump" and she had only 5 and 3 against UCF but she averaged 19.2 ppg in her first 5 conference games. She had a very unrepresentative year that required a lot of adjustment on her part that we all discussed in depth but she has one of the best pull up jumpers in the country. Hoping for big things this weekend and beyond for her. She will also be All Big East next year barring injury I am sure.

Weekly awards are totally irrelevant to who gets FOY award. The weekly award winner is selected by an entirely different group of people, i.e. some media reporters. FOY, unlike the weekly awards, is chosen by the coaches. It's easy to make a case for Tsineke.

That is not correct. Each coach decides his/her own criteria. There is no mandate as to how much weight to give to OOC games.
