It's been a long time since I've seen a more impressive box score, especially against a quality opponent. She's really playing good ball and keeping MN in the Big 10 race despite losing Rachael Banham for the season. Their new coach also appears to be doing a good job. I love UCONN and UCONN basketball, but as a fan of women's basketball I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this woman's play.

Zahui is basically Dolson's heir as "Best Center in America," IMO. Not quite the same type of player: she can't pass as well as Dolson. But she's a monster rebounder and ferocious scorer inside.

As a UConn fan, living in Minnesota (yeah, I also cheer for the Gophers as well), Zahui is just a low post dominated beast here in Big Ten country. Great game for the young lady and the team.

Saw her play at RU. She is one of the most impressive centers I have ever seen in WCBB, and is only a Soph. She should be a first team AA IMO.

Agree!

Java,
Sadly I don't think all 3 huskies make first Team All-American.
I would vote for:
1st Team (C) Amanda Zahui-Min (F) Breanna Stewart-UCONN (F) Nina Davis-Bay (G) Jewell Lloyd-ND (G) Tiffany Mitchell-USC
2nd Team (C) Williams-Duke (F) Harrison-TEN (F) Mosqueda-Lewis- UCONN (G) Jefferson-UCONN, (G) Theriot-NEB
3rd Team (C) Bulgak- FSU (F) Tuck -UCONN (F) Bailey-BYU, (G) Plum-WAS, (G) Orrange-STAN
1st Team All Freshmen: (F) Turner-ND, (F) Acura Stevens-Duke, (F) Wilson- US, (G) Mitchell-OSU, (G) Nurse-UCONN
Honorable mentions: Laney-RUT, Lang-TX, Burdick-TEN, Coates-USC, ………………

She probably has the best hair in WCBB :)
Second best. I'm partial to the young lady in the picture giving your team the business!

She's from Sweden and didn't play HS ball in the US. I'm not sure if she was ranked though.
Thanks. Regan Magarity, niece of the Army coach, is also from Sweden. As a freshman, she was leading Virginia Tech in both scoring and rebounding at 14.0 and 10.6, respectively, before a season-ending injury. Having played only 5 games, she may get a red-shirt.

A game of unreal stats, as Iowa's Samantha Logic scored 26 points, had 4 steals, and 13 assists with 0 TOs. The battle among the top PGs this year is certainly above average.

And yeah, what is the wingspan on Zahui's hair?

Prospect Nation lists the top 25 (in their opinion) of Zahui B's class. They missed her. My guess is that the large Swedish population in Min. had something to do with her being there.

A double-double machine. She is, in fact, averaging a double double.

She is most likely the B10 player of the year, and agree, she should be on All American teams.

She visited Louisville and it was between us and Minnesota. She chose Minnesota because it reminded her of home. I have been silently weeping since them. Walz was very, very high on her. Several trips to Sweden were made to see her.
