I guess. BCU looks, maybe, marginally better than a team like Yale. The blowout threads look especially cringeworthy now. Let's not start one about how bad Washington or Indiana is, please.

Take the win and move on. My biggest gripe is that they get a chance to show out on national TV and turn in a piss poor effort. Bazz especially. A neutral observer watching that game would laugh at the idea that he's one of the best guards in the country.

Hey at least we aren't VCU. They are getting clobbered.

BC was in do or die mode tonight. I'm not happy with the way we played but we are playing at 7:30 tomorrow night. Need to go change my shorts

Boat played very well and so did Daniels. The way the refs were calling the game it was unbearable to watch. For some reason, and it wasn't BC's defense, our offense had poor flow. I am all for Bazz taking shots, but his shot selection felt forced and not within the rhythm of the offense. The first four games we have played some beautiful offense, but tonight it just was not flowing.

The blowout predictions really pissed off the mojo gods. This team always finds a way to dig themselves a hole. Yes it's a win. It's really like PC where it does not matter how good or bad the teams are. The other team always finds something extra.

Thank you BOAT!!!!!

03-04 team only ended up beating Yale by 10.

Shabazz played a bad game...wasn't making shots, was farcing things. Giffey did almost nothing. Our team on a whole was missing everything. Games like this, you just take the win and move on. Our team's greatest strength is 3-point shooting, and Shabazz making things happen with the ball. Neither were on point tonight. That's not going to happen very much this season.

I didn't see anything piss poor about the effort. Bazz was a little off tonight but I don't give a f what a neutral observer who only watched this game would think. I do know that a neutral observer who had watched all our games for 4 years would think that Bazz is pretty darn good.

BC did a pretty good job of slowing down the pace of the game. UConn didn't shoot well. Hanlan pushed off every time. Next.

Disappointed that we didn't/couldn't set the tempo. We need to run more and play at a faster pace. Can only partly blame this on the handcheck rule, but this game was really disjointed and hard to watch. DD is so much better when we play at a faster pace where he can run the floor as is Boat and Omar. Lot's open it up KO.

If you believe that we're going to be the sort of team that improves throughout the year, then this streak of so-so play might not be a concern.

If you believe that -- as a largely veteran group -- we are who we're going to be, then these first few weeks put a disappointing ceiling on what we can expect to accomplish this year.

Either way, we'll have a better sense by January. If we're still struggling to put away the likes of Houston and ECU, then we can hit the panic button. If we have a better rhythm on offense, smarter rotations on defense, more aggressive rebounding, and -- most importantly -- a sense of how to put our foot on the opponent's throat, then we'll be primed for an exciting March.

I love Boat but he's not playing in the NBA next year, he has room to improve as good as he is. We have him 1 more and no Bazz has me nervous. We need better ball movement and team involvement in the last 4 minutes, hear that KO? Daniels could have touched it and gone to the line. BC had play execution, I 'll give them that.

Did you know UConn has a rivalry with BC. 23 games in a row. What a rivalry.

We blow them out 8 of 10 times.

Next.

This game reminded me some of the first time we played UMass after the hiatus. That was at home, we were much better, but they played well and it was a tight win.

JC always said he loved these tournaments because the set up is good preparation for the post season when you get little to no time to scout, practice against your next opponent.

Also, UConn played the game at the pace of the opponent and kept them 8-11 points behind most of the night.

Combine the experience and the result, and I'll take it.

20 pts, 4 rebound, 4 assists. Not bad for a "bad" game.

Also shot 33%, played shaky defense at times and missed some big free throws at the end. He's a terrific player, so the bar is raised much higher for him. An off night for him.

The good thing about playing like we did tonight is that the chances that we play like that again tomorrow are very very low.

Shabazz had his worst game of the season tonight and it was a 20 pt game. Deandre looked incredible. BC is a good team with a few close losses. Hanlan and Anderson are big time players, lets calm down this was our second best win behind UMD. Again we showed we play bad offense when were up alot but we play great shoot foul shots and plays d when it counts don't start knocking bazz for not having +10 assists...

Like I said elsewhere, UConn beat BC playing their game. It's a bit disappointing UConn couldn't dictate pace but also pretty nice UConn could play that style and lead for practical the whole night.

Kevin pelton , really great nba insider @ espn, loves napier, check his twitter. The potential shown by kromah Giffey and Brimah is jaw dropping. I'm watching indiana they got vonleh @ the 5, no way we lose.

BC has a misleading record. They have Hanlan and Anderson, they'll compete in the ACC.

I think Indiana is looking much much more impressive than we did tonight. Vonleh has a significant muscle and hustle advantage on our fives and Yogi is putting on a point guard clinic. Plus their 2-guard has a 9 inch height advantage on Boat...we are doomed, DOOMED for sure.

True, they lost a tight game at home to a decent, mid-major Toledo team, lost in OT to Providence and were beaten by a good UMass team, who looked pretty impressive in the short amount of their games that I have seen.
However, Indiana looks a ton better than BCU tonight.
