DePaul lost a heartbreaker to TA&M. DePaul led for most of the game, at one point by as much as 17. As A&M got closer and closer (and Chennedy Carter is the real deal, folks) it occurred to me that DePaul was playing to not lose, not to win. A&M had an inside game and three pointers. At the end, DePaul had three pointers, and not quite enough of them. Still and all, a great game to watch.

Not always easy to play from in front with a lot of time remaining. Suddenly, instead of playing free and loose without a whole lot of thought becomes a game when you are thinking about everything concerned about committing unforced errors, bad turnovers, stupid fouls, stopping the clock, etc. The team on the short end of the score, meanwhile, is playing with desperate/reckless abandon with little to lose and a ton of motivation.

Chennedy Carter is another Kelsey Mitchell. She's never met a shot she didn't like. Did anyone notice that Kelsey Mitchell scored only 11 points and Ohio St. still won? Amazing.

DePaul didn’t play well in the last 5 minutes, but having watched the entire game and how physical it was at times, it’s incomprehensible that A&M committed only 9 fouls (and the 9th was intentional).

Also, while Carter is the real deal, the officials bailed her out several times when she drove to the basket completely out of control and fell on her own accord.
