You may not agree with this Waco Trib reporter's other take-aways, but you gotta love his take on the fans:

No#5 -- The crowd. Holy cow, the crowd
So the stat sheet will say there were 16,294 people stuffed into the XL Center, not unlike barbacoa beef crammed into a Chipotle burrito. This is correct. But the number itself is a disservice to the sheer noise the pink-clad crowd generated. At one point in the second half, when Baylor was mounting its push to keep UConn at arm's length, Brooklyn Pope got a steal and appeared ready to take it the distance for an easy layup. But Moriah Jefferson crept up behind her and swatted the ball into the student section. The crowd's response was the human equivalent of a jet engine. I checked my ears to make sure there wasn't blood trickling out. Very impressed. No wonder they use the venue for big games.
