With this the their win today, 16 UConn Classes will now have graduated with winning at least 30 games in all four seasons of their basketball career. Some like to talk that some programs have passed UConn, but no program will every break all of the records Geno and Chris have established over their illustrious careers.

Our most recent sub-30 win seasons were in 2019-20 and 2020-21, when the seasons were shortened by Covid. We were 29-3 and 28-2 in those years. Otherwise, you have to go back to 2004-5 to see one--we were 25-8 that year and made it to the Sweet 16. quite impressive

While I know all too well that there are much bigger goals ahead for this UConn team, we should never miss yet another opportunity to celebrate the incredible success of UConn WBB.

With their win yesterday the Huskies record this season goes to 30-3. That’s the 28th time a Geno Auriemma coached UConn team reached 30 wins in a season, which is considerably better than whoever the 2nd place team is.

I would think that the Covid seasons earn an asterisk seeing that a possible 6 games were not played in 19-20 and in 20-21, teams could cancel games due to Covid.
I guess I need to do some deeper digging to find out the consecutive streaks. UConn should be easy to find out, other teams, probably not.

Does UConn have the NCAA record for consecutive 30 win seasons?
If so, which team (active) is next in line?
If not, where do we sit among active streaks?

Currently there are 5 teams that have won 30 or more games this season, TCU 31-3, Texas 31-3, UCLA 30-2, UConn 30-3 and SC 30-3. 42 additional teams could get to 30 wins, needing anywhere from 1 win to running the table in the NCAA Tournament.

As I have previously posted, the two Covid seasons should be exempted(*) because games were canceled and one NCAA Tournament was canceled.
So we are at 18* consecutive active seasons. :)

But I appreciate the effort from everyone on this.

...

I wanted to check AI on this. Here is what ChatGPT had to offer, in about 3 seconds btw:

"Yes, the University of Connecticut (UConn) women's basketball team holds the NCAA Division I record for the most consecutive 30-win seasons, achieving this milestone for 14 straight seasons from 2005–06 to 2018–19.
en.wikipedia.org

As of the 2024–25 season, UConn has recorded its fourth consecutive 30-win season, matching the current active streak held by the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
ctinsider.com

Therefore, both UConn and South Carolina currently share the longest active streak of consecutive 30-win seasons in NCAA Division I women's basketball, each with four seasons.
