First of all, thanks to tcf15 for posting those vids to watch on a slow day at the office.

At 1:26.40 of this video (6:20 left in the game), Boat finds DD with an alley-oop over the top of the Florida 1-3-1 trap to put us up 8. Bazz had just found DD on a similar play against this same defense a few possessions before and then Bazz finds him again after on the next possession, so it was one of three times we threw it over the top to DD successfully in a short span, which I remembered well as a key part of how we got separation again after Young brought them back.

On this particular lob, though - I never really noticed how impressive the pass was on the first viewing. Boat throws this from around his hip with two guys on him. Almost just flicks it up to the rim without tipping the pass so that the back line of Florida's defense doesn't react in time.

Then if you keep watching, there's a sick defensive possession right after (all five guys on their toes, reacting to a post feed/cutter and recovering before Wilbekin bricks one) and the next lob from Bazz to DD (just a UF defensive breakdown on that one - nobody was back there) to make it 10 for a UF timeout. They show the Boat alley-oop in super slo-mo coming out of the media timeout to show his eyes, but the replay actually makes it look less impressive than live action - when Boat's sort of casual dribbling lulls everyone to sleep and then all of a sudden his alleyoop is heading to the rim. It was a really impressive pass.

Those lobs broke Florida's spirit. They had used that 1-3-1 so well to disrupt other teams, but Bazz and Boat ripped it apart.

Credit to KO and the staff for having the guys so prepared.

Didn't Dave Chappelle say that everything looks better in slow motion? :D

It's more impressive, to me at least, in slow motion... the look away is simply amazing!

In real-time, I was wondering what the hell Boatright was doing because I too was completely fooled by it... but in slow motion, it just looks perfect! Every Boatright highlight reel from here on out should start with the that! ha-ha

How about on the Bazz to DD alley-oop, that DD was able to keep his pivot foot without traveling, despite coming down in a seemingly unbalanced position? I thought for sure he was going to be called for steps.

Good recap.

I remember this play and I had no idea what happened- it was like Boat was working with some pixie dust.

I then watched it again and again and unless I watch it in slow-mo, I still can't figure out how it left his hands.

That was 1 of the Greatest Passes, That I have ever seen.
I said that, As soon as he made that Play.

I never understood why it didn't even make the Highlight Reel on espn.

Thanks g-man. Those were both huge. And I still don't know how Boat threw that with his hands low!

I was texting my brother throughout the second halves of every tournament game - it became a mojo thing. I must have had my head down for a split second when he released the pass, because I didn't remember that play until I just watched it again today. Well, I remembered the play as just being an alley-oop from him (in addition to Bazz's two all in quick sequence), but didn't realize it was that special. Re-watching it today, I thought "holy swear words"
