It is our pleasure to introduce a new feature on Hoopfeed. As we head toward conference tournaments, the NCAA tournament and then the WNBA draft, Dishin & Swishin podcast host David Siegel is taking time to chat with some of the top seniors in this year’s college class. These are the leaders of their teams, the focus of their opponent’s attention and those that WNBA coaches have their eyes on. By draft day, you should have information on most of the people your favorite team may choose!

As a reminder the Q&A sessions are WRITTEN, which I know will make some people very happy. In some cases, there will also be complete interviews in audio format if you prefer that. As we add more I'll list them and link to them.

The first in the series is up now, to help get you ready for Notre Dame at Maryland tonight.

Dishin & Swishin Q&A looks at the Class of 2014: Can Kayla McBride lead Notre Dame to a title?

Well Kayla certainly has the ACC cool aid down: bigger, faster , more athletic. ND can also enjoy the rest: play sloppy defense, lack fundamental offensive skills, and the last national championship was won by a team leaving for the even more mediocre 10ers.

A lot of players could make claims to thinking they're playing in the top conference. Sagarin has the B12 ranked tops even though its best rated team is just Baylor, and the SEC is ranked 2nd even with a challenged UTenn as a top team. ACC is just 3rd rated even with ND, Duke, MD and UNC in the top 10 and along with the AAC is the only conference with two top 5 teams. Lot of opinions there.

At least with ND the ACC does have one team that knows how to play defense, as the Irish are rated at #39 in scoring defense. The AAC meanwhile has four teams in the top 40 in defense.
