OK, good for you. Sykes is almost worse than worthless. Rushdan and Oliver can play, but Sykes IMO is a very bad influence on RU and I am a little surprised that CVS apparently has not figured that out.

I don't think she'll admit she made a mistake recruiting her. She doesn't fit our system at all. CVS has done a better job finding kids who fit her system of play since then. Just have to give them time to adjust and get better.

I don't know if recruiting her was a mistake. After all she is certainly a talented offensive player. But if recruiting was not the mistake, the way she has been coached (or not coached, if you will) certainly has been.

Havent seen much of RU or Sykes this year, but curious to see why you say she doesnt fit your system.

Geno wanted April, so I'll give the benefit of the doubt to April and say Rutgers wasn't the best fit for her. Also how many others in her class left and didn't stick it out. Perhaps UConn wouldn't have been the correct fit either. April probably should have gone closer to home.

Geno wanted her, based on what? No offer was extended and it's not clear to me that UConn had much interest.

I think that first year for Sykes really screwed with her head - Rutgers was just a mess that year with the defection to Europe, and two of the heralded class quitting. CViv was miserable, the players were miserable, the fans were miserable - just a mess. I give her props for sticking it out, but I think everything that happened that year just ate into her confidence.

Ohio State's coach has a spiffy sweater going on. So there's that.

This game between Ohio State and Purdue is close but nearly unwatchable.

Rutgers continues to trail St Johns and looks to be headed towards another L.

65 all in Columbus.

it's sort of like giving Deleware a 2 seed. i don't care that they are a 1-loss team - they have beaten no one of substance this year really, so even tho their RPI is #6, i'd still make them a 4 seed, or at best a 3 seed...

I guess "no one of substance" includes 2 top-25 teams (penn state, and they dealt the Bonnies one of their 2 losses and that one was in olean...) plus princeton. The only loss was single-digits at Maryland. They look headed for a 3-seed at this point given how many bad losses others had this week. I think if you replaced them with a star player of any other background, there would be less ill-will towards their out of conference slate. At least 4 legit non conference opponents is a lot for a mid major, and 3 of them were on the road.

ah i forgot about PSU. that win was a substance win. thanks for the reminder! still lots of games left to be played, but i want them in UCONN's bracket and hope they get in as a 4 seed. unlikely unless they lose another game this year which is possible, but not likely... or if they are a 3 seed, i could see them in our bracket if they make Kentucky our 2 seed (or Miami or something like that)...

right now you may, but if both Stanford and Duke win out, i can't see how Stanford has the higher RPI as Duke will have to beat maryland, miami, and then possibly both of them in the ACC tourney... i'd expect that Duke would have the higher RPI at that point. if not, then there's something wrong with the RPI calculations...
Because they would be 4 and5 on the S curve and both Duke and Stanford could benefit regionally if Stanford is #1.

WHY STANFORD #1 - Pro

Jumping in here...is it something to do with travel time and cutting costs, too? Sorry if I am repeating another's post.:)
