He runs over to his bench and jumps up on a chair to celebrate, leaving his teamates to defend UCONN 4 on 5 as we miss a shot at the buzzer. We'd still be seeing that highlight if we had actually hit that shot. Instead, it's simply the highlight of the last decade for UMASS.

That final shot was taken by Denham Brown. It just missed. Denham also just missed a game winner vs George Mason that would've put us in -4 that year.
For UMess (c'mon on, Clothy) that's their only win vs us in the last 30 times we played. And they think that we're rivals.

To his credit, he hit a GW turn-around jumper against Gonzaga in the finals of the Maui Invitation that year, as well as the insane reverse lay-up against GM to tie the game and send it into OT.

the 30-9 halftime game was in Dec 2002. 'Shad was a freshman who hadn't done much yet until that second half. That was a crazy game to be at. Once UMass's lead got back down to 10 pts, you just knew UCONN was going to win. Even the UMass players looked like they knew it. Hooper Scooper took an extra ticket that we had for that game & sat with us for the first time. My buddy's stepmother looked at the scoreboard at halftime and said to him, "I'm sorry, you seem like a really nice guy, but you can't sit with us anymore".
